disbelief zeppelin should be required listening,

starting with Houses of the Holy is kinda weird as well, I wonder how you will view the first one hmmm whatever you do get In Through The Outdoor Last zzz

Presence and Coda have to be listened to in the proper perspective.

Hell yes. It is seriously fantastic.

I recommend the Remasters 4 cd box set, which is a brilliant collection and got me into the band when it came out.

Man, you must have read my mind!

I just read the biography Hammer Of The Gods, as it has such a reputation for being THE rock biog (it isn't, as it turns out, but it got me thinking...).

I bought the curiously titled Led Zep DVD "DVD" when it came out, and have only watched it witha somewhat detached attitude..until this week.

Suddenly, the footage seems to be so alive! What is wrong with me? I always hated Zeppelin mad I can't afford to get into this band! bawl Too many albums to buy disbelief

Still, I was right about that fucking violin bow.....hmmm

Hey Dave, did I tell you that a friend just happened to find a copy of HOTG and bought it for me the other week? (I can't remember if I told you already) lol I knew you were reading it, and now I'm reading it. nod I would never buy it for myself, but I have to say I can't put it down. I love all the trashy, groupie stories. giggle

And even though I love Jimmy, the bow isn't my favorite thing either. biggrin Maybe for a few minutes, but not for any longer than that. lol

falloff I love the dragon thing!

Oh my god, i have just spent practically the whole weekend watching the Zep DVD disbelief My fave bits are the Albert Hall footage on disc one and "Nobody's Fault But Mine" at Knebworth. Oh and "Since I've Been Loving You" on disc two.

Can you imagine though; most of these songs, it is the first time I have ever heard them, having only known the obvious, well-known ones before.

Just kill me now, cos if I start buying the albums, I'll have to get them all boxed

Yeah, my absolute FAVORITE bit from the DVD is "In My Time of Dying" at Earls Court in '75. drool Here's my favorite part: when he casts the spell on the crowd.....

And of course "Since I've Been Loving You" and "The Ocean" from MSG in '73. nod

Yeah the DVD is over 5 hours long. lol I brought it over to a friend's house once and we watched the entire thing in one go and I didn't leave until almost 4 a.m. lol He hooked up his stereo speakers all over the house and we had the sound turned up to 11. The walls were literally shaking! nod headbang

I just saw Robert Plant last night. nod Great show, and his voice sounded better than ever, which surprised me actually. He sounded better than he did in Zeppelin's latter years. Over half the of the show was Zeppelin songs too, although it did sort of leave me feeling sad that Page wasn't there, and that I never got to see the whole band back in the day. sigh

Oh, and some women actually did throw their underwear (and a black bra) onstage. falloff

There is a great bit on, I think the Earls Court or Madison Square Gdn set where Page turns towards Bonham just as the drummer is about to hit a hard snare thwack and punches the air towards him in time with the drums. He does it a few times I think...It's like he is sending bolts of lightning out of his fingers or something..

Anyhow...Tell us more about the Plant gig..

Setlist..? Pics...?

What was the band like...guitarist..?

BTW did I ever mention that I used to work in a shop with Rocknrollisalive and Michael Lee (Page And Plant drummer for a while) used to come in a lot..?

It took us a while to actually find out what Michael Lee did, after he started to frequent the shop.

For some reason, he didn't like people to know..confuse
I swear I am not making this up, he told us at first that he was the accountant for the boy band Take That (who were massive in the UK at the time)! falloff

It was only when Alive delivered some of his gear and spotted the drums that they got talking about drums etc etc and it all came out he was a drummer.

I also remember seeing him on the promo vid for an Echo and The Bunnymen single, and when I mentioned it to him he was really pissed off, said something like "They promised me they would keep me out of the video"...hmmm

Weird. Page probably messed up his head with voodoo or witchcraft..
