Please help me remember a song There was this song that came out in the mid 80's - when the whole Minnapolis sound was booming...and groups like Ready for The World, The Family, and other similar groups were out.
Anyway, there was this song titled - "Come Over," It sounded like Ready For The World but it was some younger guys. I don't know what happened to the group or what the name of the group was? The chorous went like this "so won't U just, come overrrrr, come overrrrr...baby, (backround singers - Come over) - repeat chorus. The song sounded like Ready For The World - Tonight It had that whole Prince/80's slow jams sound. It came out around 85/86. It was some young group. The song was hot and for some reason I've been singing it in my miind for a while. When I search on goggle - all these over songs titled - come over -pop up. It's so fucking frutrating. Please help me remember?

Please help me remember? A co worker just told me - it was more like the late 80's and she thought it was Ready For The World, but it wasn't. The lead singer had sort of a high pitched voice. It was some fly by night - boy group who only had one song - was it Five Star? I don't think so.....damn, who was that group?

Are you talking about "Slide Over"? That was a slow jam and it was by Ready For The World. Andy is a four letter word.

I think it was by a group called 4 by Four. They were New Edition clones and had a song by that same title that came out in 1987.

That's correct. My sister had their album,it was released in the summer of 1987.The first single was an uptempo track called "I Want You For My Girlfriend".The second single was the slow jam "Come Over",written and produced by Melvin Riley of Ready For The World.

Too bad the group never came up with another hit record.
