Earth wind and fire "heritage" WHOA. THIS ALBUM IS FUNK'D UP. Fans must hate this album LOL. Those snares are so in ur face their bloody on ur face (?) Exactly what I like. Dated hi tech pop with them tasty funky snares. Maurice tried to get hip and to the "street". Hiring the boys and MC hammer is not a good way to go about it But I c he wanted the youth and bart simpsons of the world to spin this album. I gather this album wa a hi tec bomb. Hammer is on their twice too. He raps about 10 separate times on "wanna be the man". Hammer keeps coming back. Awesome song. Man, one of u guys shoulda told me about this album. I just bought it. Alot of EW&F fans hate this album, but I like it.It was released in 1990,at a time when New Jack Swing had taken over.Several tracks cater to that trend, but fortunately, they don't totally abandon their trademark funk sound. There are at least five excellent tracks here...
"Daydreamin" "Whatever You Want" "Good Time" (with Sly Stone) "Welcome" "For The Love Of You" I don't know why the song "Daydreamin" wasn't released as a single. It's the best song here.My only problem with this album is....MC Hammer appears on two tracks. That seems like an obvious, embarassing attempt to appeal to young audiences."Wanna Be The Man" is just awful, probably the worst EW&F single ever.

Iam surprised u like "for the love of u". I love that track. "daydreaming" is lovely. "good time" is funk'd up.

Where can I here a sample of this album? So far I've heard only one single which was mediocre at best.

Yeah, hammer is on really lame form lyrically on "wanna be the man". But both the hammer featured tracks are funk'd and snared up. I re-listened to "daydreaming". Yeah that track is really nice. I like the intro in particular. "for the love of u" has a funny chorus. The looped up background sound effect is funny.

i used 2 have the heritage single cassete, and have always loved it even though i never ogt to hear the rest of the album.....at least on "heritage" they still kept their famous harmony in the chorus....

Procued by the same people who did louie louies song "sittin' in the lap of luxury". If u have heard that song too, they both sound pretty samey. With the crisp snares and all. The boys rap on "heritage". Its OK. They dont front vocally like chumps kriss kross.

That intro kicks ass! That song is GREAT.A really cool,laid-back midtempo jam with a wonderful chorus and vocal harmonies... "daydreamin when I'm thinkin of you missing all the things that we used to do dancing at the party on a Saturday night...it was cool" In 1990,this could have been a smash. When people dismiss this album,I always say "well, don't tell me you don't like "Daydreamin"!!",lol.

you ain't lying! That song is one of their funkiest jams ever. When you have Earth Wind and Fire and Sly Stone on a track, you KNOW it's gonna be explosive.
