I find it interesting that Shakira, Ricky Martin, & Thalia have all released a new song at the same time.

Is this the coming of the next "Latin" wave of music?

If Enrique Iglesias hits the air with a new track within the next couple of weeks, then it'll be for sure!

I don't think any of them will make a big impact at top 40 radio (even Shakira) because their respective albums are in Spanish. It's not really part of any new 'Latin wave'--just three big Latin artists coincidentally releasing new albums at the same time.

It seems that many of the Latin artists are going back to their roots,abandoning pop music and releasing albums in Spanish.Marc Anthony hasn't released a "pop" album since 2002,and his last couple of albums are sung in Spanish.He doesn't seem that interested in making another pop record.

Shakira's is in Spanish, but DAMN it's hot!

Thalia's was done in both English and Spanish...and with hubby (Tommy Mottola) pushing it, it may just break Top 40.

I must have been thinking of Ricky's last album which was all Spanish. It will be interesting to see how well a new English album will do now that the Latin explosion of a few years ago has died down.

Thalia's new album only has three English tracks which will be tacked on at the end so it's pretty much a Spanish album and won't be marketed to top 40 radio.
