First of all, thanks to all who've inquired and patiently waited for this edition of DOWN & FUNKY WIDIT. Here at the Stone Camp, we're pretty excited. We told you in the last issue of a film documentary in production. We have been able to view some of the dailies and are encouraged that the production team is putting together a noteworthy project.
No doubt you Stone Nation-ites have heard the buzz surrounding the commercial release of two Sly related CD's. In case you haven't heard one is a Sly & The Family Stone retrospective and the other a tribute CD featuring interpretations of the Family Stone's work by such luminaries as Lenny Kravitz, Stephen Tyler, Joss Stone and others. Available at this time only at Starbucks.
Those of you who don't have a Sly, funk stamped collectible tee shirt can still acquire one at www.slyslilsis.com , however, we must caution you that they will be in short supply after the upcoming Phunk Phamily Affair gig at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, CA on August 15. ALL THE SQUARES LEAVE HOME!
Finally, the clamor for new music can soon stop. Vet Stone and Phunk Phamily Affair will soon release a CD produced by Sly himself. I didn't stutter. NEW SLY PRODUCED MUSIC. Any minute. Stay down & funky widit.
