GOLDFRAPP - 'SUPERNATURE'

Mmmmmm.... a golden light beckons ahead and it's name is Goldfrapp:

I can't wait for their new album, and judging by the soon-to-be-released single: 'Ooh La La' and the snippets available on their cool little mini-site, it's going to be rammed full of fantastic uber-glam sexytronica.

The new single is just brilliant, it's like Marc Bolan if he'd made it to the 21st Century (like he said he would!) and the video just makes me laugh (check out the guitarist strutting around the stage like his life depends on it, and the drummer doing his thing in massive stack heels)

Ingredients:
A generous helping of a psychadelic Abba,
A liberal sprinkle of Glitter glam,
A dash of The Sweet,
Stir in a little 70's kitsch to taste,
Bake for 3:17

mmmm....yummy! (well, you try and describe it!) big grin

Click below to go the mini site and watch the video for 'Ooh La La':

Thanks thumbs up! Very 70's....I likey alot mr.green Sextonseven said that "Ooh La La" was like "Train" with a more rock feel. I love Train, but I was kinda unsure about Goldfrapp adding the rock influence. Turns out I really really like "Ooh La La". U Never Know, Slide In, and Koko seem pretty good too from the clips. smile "Time Out From the World" sounds like it'll be one of my cloud 9 songs. It's so chilled and relaxing.

I'm ok with Ohh La La. I've heard better from them and it sounds a LOT like train. My friend said she heard the whole album already and says it's really good. My guess is that Ohh la la is the "single" for the album and the rest will be the meat of it.VERY MUCH looking forward to this release though.

I have to say Felt Mountian is still one of my very favorites of all time.

Yes, January at least because Goldfrapp will be so busy promoting the new album in the U.K. and Europe this year, that they won't have time to come to the states to properly promote the new release until next year so the U.S. release date was pushed back to accommodate the band.

Or so the story goes.

That is just a too perfect description of their sound. No wonder I find Alison Goldfrapp so hot.

Maybe I should add them to my post in the "famming" thread...

BTW they have samples of of each song off the new album.

Sounds similar to the last. Not necessa a bad thing either. It's actually more up than the last one. I miss the sorrow though. No Hairy Trees or Black Cherry or Lovely head. Time out for the world sounds really good and Let it Take you

Perhaps you should. If in a few years, Fashion Week is promoting the new 'sexytronica' trend, you'll be sorry!

lol

By the way, in other 'frappage news... a number of dates on the UK tour will be available on CD after the shows - more info here: http://www.liveherenow.co.uk

I think Bowie and a few others have tried it, but I so wish certain other artists would take heed of this *cough cough*

I saw a snippet of this video on line a few weeks ago and and I can't wait for this cd to come out. I really like the direction Goldfrapp is heading in. I love the electro-glam thing she's doing. I hope they never make an album like Felt Mountain again.

stfu biggrin

Felt Mountain is one of the best albums ever produced IMO. Seriously. There's nothing like it. Such sorrow...such sadness...and drama. Songs like Pilots, and Human and the Euphoric Utopia bring tears to my eyes. That whole album is a masterpiece from the first note played.

I find the next excursions in thier music interesting, as they creep closer to whats already out there in the "mainstream", in which I mean the alt electronica "mainstream". sorta like jamiroquoi did just in a different way. Not to say that it's not good, because what they are doing is and they are making their own with it. It's just that I felt Felt Mountain was much more original and daring, albeit slow, than Black Cherry and certainly this new offering are.
