"baby, let me love you all night long....I can treat you better than he can" blah blah blah BORING! Which is why I listen to mostly classic soul & old skool hip-hop these days. Today's R&B is just weak-azz vocals over beats I heard in high school & college. Where's the singing, songwriting & musicianship?

Indeed. He succeeded in convincing people that Alicia Keyes is the female Stevie Wonder

Although I do like Alicia I think all this hype he creates for her is un realstic and going to hard for her to live up 2 and could hurt her as people are going to be expecting "songs in the key of life" and "Innvervisions", she's a talented r&b singer/songwriter, and his hype of Mario

Seconnd Generation MJ Clones (Usher is first generation, along with Sisqo, ginuwine...) Timberlake might be first or second, Nsync are third generation J5 clones.
1. Omarion (I overrated him, his steps aren't that nice) 2. Mario 3. Nick Cannon 4. Marques Houston I think Bobby Valentino is nice This is only based on the song "Slow Down"

They sell well enough. They're not going to make a huge impact on the charts like Usher or be legends like Prince and MJ, but they sell and make record companies money. Ain't nothing wrong with that! It's been the trend for quite a while now, although the trend is no mostly focused on these young guys when a few years back it was rappers with an R&B singer (male or female) doing a catchy chorus, often something that is straight from Stevie Wonder or George Clinton....It's all not good!

And that tells you what a sad state R&B (rap & BS) is in today. Usher is now the R&B savior. Omarion is a self-obsessed young celebrity. It's par for the course these days. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
