In London, uninjured singer Omarion seeks prayers

Fri Jul 8, 8:30 AM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - London was the scene of carnage on Thursday after a series of deadly blasts but American R&B crooner Omarion, who suffered no injury or inconvenience, wants people to pray for him.

"Omarion was in London during the tragic bombings that struck this morning," a statement by the singer's publicist AR PR Marketing, released hours after the bombings, said.

Making no mention of the fatalities or casualties of the blasts, the singer's statement concluded, "He would like his fans to pray that he has a safe trip and a safe return home. He appreciates your support."

He was in London for Saturday's Live 8 show, his publicist Shana Gilmore told Reuters from Los Angeles. Asked why anyone should pray for him, Gilmore said, "He wasn't hurt or anything, but just the fact that he was there and all that."

Omarion was the teenaged lead singer of the chart-topping band B2K before going solo. The 20-year-old's first solo album "O" debuted at No. 1 of Billboard charts earlier this year.

This Omarion (whoever the fuck he is) sounds like a selfish twat. I hope misfortune pays him a visit.

These sorry mofo's are lame as hell. All of them. Fuck hip-hop, these are the people bringing R&B down to the gutter. Ellie said it best, they all look, sound and dance the same way. They might as well be one person. It's terrible but it's all about the $$$$$.

How evil! Shouldn't wish that on anyone...even if they are "DULL". Or selfish. Life takes care of that itself.

Anyway, he may not have said it...or said it correctly. Perhaps he/his publicist wanted everyone to know that he was there at the time. They're just not good at their job. They should have said "Omarion wishes for his fans to pray for all the victims and their families as they supported us through the 911 crisis...and then they should have had him make the rounds to the hospitals etc...especially if he's well"

Now Mark. As a die-hard fan of Michale Jackson, re-read what you just said and think about it.

I'm sure that bombing scared the fuck out of Omarion...would have scared that fuck outta me too had I been there. He just wants to make it home in one piece. I don't think his publicist literally meant "pray for Omarion and nobody else".

As for these cookie cutter R&B dudes, they have marginal talent, but damn can they at least sing about something other than buying a girl gifts and making her come?
Damn this kooky love affair....

Of course she didn't but it's her job to know the media and to know how that comment would be perceived. It's her job to put the right spin on his wussing out. It's in times of crisis that people show who they truly are. And if he wasn't the "hero"...she shouldn't have bought attention to it.

They are just the black versions of the sorry ass rock singing clones. I can't even count the number of jokers trying to sing like Pearl Jam. They are just the other side of the same copy coin.

Really? Just being IN the city? Hell, I was there then just a few miles away. 3 of my friends would have been right in the middle of it but weren't on their way to work that day for circumstantial reasons. It was tragic but I'm not asking for any sympathy cos nothing happened to me.

LOL, that reminds me of a Mad TV sketch taking off The Calling, with Creed singing it out claiming they stole their sound, then Pearl Jam winning the fight and then Ray Charles coming along saying they all ripped HIM off biggrin

He has come out and said he never made these comments and the publist said she did not put out this statement.

All of these guys are generic. They all have the same look, same sound and same predictable style.I honestly don't see how people can even tell them apart. They all do the same type of music....bass-heavy R&B with alot of hip-hop influences and the oh-so-exciting guest rappers. The lyrics on their albums don't consist of anything of substance, just the usual...

"baby, let me love you all night long....I can treat you better than he can" blah blah blah
