Update on the new Sigur Ros Project

Here is partial information from the beautiful Sigur Ros site called 18 Seconds Before Sunrise~~~~~
the band has finished recording, mixing and mastering the still-untitled new
album, which is due for release in september (hopefully). there are 11 tracks on
the album, amounting to 65 minutes of music. 9 of these songs have never been
heard before, gong and mílanó being the only familiar songs. salka and other new
songs were recorded but will not be featured on this release. us at 18 seconds
before sunrise were fortunate enough to listen to the album earlier in the week.
it is startlingly beautiful, diverse and dramatic. we are not ashamed to admit
that we occasionally had to hold back tears. you'll only have to wait a little
more than a month for a preview of the album when the first single is released
online in mid-august on itunes.

- the band are about to embark on a world tour, starting in glasgow this friday.
they have finished rehearsing the new material, which in some cases has needed
to be re-arranged so that the four band members are able to play it in concert.
amina are the supporting band for this tour, in addition to joining them onstage
to perform the string parts of the new songs. the european tour will end in
italy towards the end of july, after which they will head to japan for a one-off
date. after that, the band will play three dates in australia, then one date in
hawaii, and one date in los angeles. after the l.a. gig on august 11th, the band
will take a break before they embark on a 21-date north american tour in
september.
