Jamiroquai's Dynamite arrived in the mail today . . .

And the mood is definitely subdued. Not that I don't like it, but it's not necessarily have the energy of prior outings like Emergency on Planet Earth and Return of the Space Cowboy (STILL their best).
Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

What do you think of "Seven Days In Sunny June"? I think it's the best song on the album. It is already one of my Top 5 Jamiroquai songs.

Right now,I'm really digging the song "Love Blind".I predict it will be a future single. It's a fierce dance number, with a rock feel to it.

Am I the only one who hears a slight Prince influence on the title track? Particularly, the line "Baby I'm not expensive but tonight you're taking me" sounds like something Prince would have wrote back in the day.Btw,the bass on this song is HOT!

Namepeace,I'm interested in seeing a full review, after you've listened to it a little more....

so far it's been the main reason I come back to this disc.

that said I've been busy with a lot of other music lately....have only listened to Dynamite about 2 times all the way through....

but i've played the hell out of that song!

"Seven days in sunny june
were long enough to bloom
the flowers on the summer dress you wore in spring
The way we laughed as one
and then you dropped the bomb
that I've known you too long for us to have a thing"

When you first hear this song, you think it's a bright, happy, summery track...until you read the lyrics and discover it's actually about a failed summer fling. You can hear the desperation as the song progresses.
