Man, you went way back on that one! I remember that tune, from George's "Liberated Fantasies" album, Kool!! I love his MPS Records period, from '73 - '76,...I think "Fantasies" was his last album before he signed to Epic Records in '77....

My introduction to George Duke was the early 70s Frank Zappa albums he appeared on. His vocals and keyboard solos on 'Inca Roads' from the album 'One Size Fits All' are incredible. 'Apostrophe' and 'Overnite Sensation' are great too. I think that period where FZ had a little funk in his songs (thanks to people like Duke) is my favourite. [Edited 7/6/05 3:08am] | |

[Edited 7/6/05 3:08am] Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation is my favorite Zappa period, too! And naturally there is some overlap: Frank Zappa appears, playing guitar on on George Duke's "Feel" album, on the tracks "Love" and "Old Slippers" (he appears under the pseudonym "Obdewl X")... ...
