David - that review is very mouth-watering. drool Thank you for posting it.

What was the sex scandal that Bill O'Reilly got caught yup in? Falafels???!

One of his female assistants sued him last year, claiming that he sexually harassed her,and engaged in kinky phone sex with her, lol. The smutty details of her lawsuit were posted on a website (smokinggun.com?) and there were some outrageous claims made by this woman.

Like? boxed

Is Bill O'Reilly the CNN anchorman? (Quite right-wing/conservative). If it is, I know of him but he's not as well-known in the UK. I take it he's exactly the kind of guy that Madonna would take the p*** out of?

By the sounds of it, it seems like it could be the new Ray of Light.

Ray of Light experimented with rock and electronica. It wasn't exactly a dance album, but the ideas are similar.

I sincerely hope it gets the attention it deserves.

Meanwhile, it seems Madonna used her downtime at the London Live 8 show to slip in some networking.

"She was spending quality time backstage with Paul McCartney, and they had a 15-minute chat about her new CD and him possibly doing something with her for the record," says a witness.

The Material Mom leaves this week for a 12-day family vacation in Greece and Italy that's costing a reputed $300,000. Says the insider: "She even had pal Donatella Versace whit her up duds just for the vacation, including some hot bikinis."

MTVUK is probably a pretty realiable source. Sounds a million times better than "Defying Gravity". I like it!

Seems like I'm the minority, but I like Defying Gravity MUCH better. It's almost like a winky admittance of all the airbrushing she's been enjoying lately...

Confessions on the Dancefloor is just lame though....sounds like a fan-created update of Like a Prayer.

I'm betting this is bogus. That report sounds totally made up too...In the age of bittorrent, there's NO WAY WB would invite some random guy in for a listen.

Apparently, somebody at Warner Bros. likes the posts I've made at this board.I got an invite to a listen of Madonna's new album.I thought it must have been a joke! The people at Warner Bros. were so nice to me.They said they didn't want me to release any information about her album because there still could be changes to it.On the other hand,it sounds like they purposely hired me to "leak" information about it,so here it goes...

The title is 'Confessions On A Dancefloor'.It's a cheesy, desperate title for an album that doesn't need desperate titles.I've followed Madonna for 23 years. This album blows away anything she has ever done. It's not "all dance" as she and others have described. It's actually dance mixed with rock.I would say the closest thing to compare it to is Chumbawamba (sp?).In fact, there's a track called "Would It Make You Happy?" that sounds alot like Chumbawamba's "Amnesia".The rep said that it should be the first single and it will hit the airwaves in August. The song is also sort of like "Human Nature" where she berates her critics, but it is MUCH MUCH better. It's a song anybody, who is being brought down by the jealousy of others, can identify with.

Then there's a song called "New York".It's a tribute song, very hardcore dance. This song will be the album's "Ray Of Light".Her vocals are absolutely incredible on this track."You can say I'm not American but never say I'm not a New Yorker" is one line that I remember faintly.

"Every Dog Has It's Day" is dedicated to our favorite news anchor Bill O Reilly. In this song, she sarcastically whispers phrases from the famous "OReilly sex tapes".She laughs "anyone want a falafel?".She doesn't mention his name once in the song. It's really hysterical.

"The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" is the only song that perhaps doesn't fit on the album, but still danceable. It reminds me of something from 'I'm Breathless' in that it has a 50s feel to it.

The last track I heard, which was both beautiful and haunting,is called "Billy".Musically, this is one of the best songs ever recorded. In the song, she follows a teenage boy who is about to commit suicide. You don't learn that it is because of his homosexuality until the end of the song.It starts off haunting...she whispers the song more than sings it,but it is absolutely beautiful...."Please Billy you are not to blame...God loves you,he made you this way" she sings. The room was practically in tears by the end of the song as she cries and pleads for "Billy" not to take his life.I can only imagine what the video will be like.

The rating for this record is a 10/10.I was upset that there aren't any real ballads on this album ("Billy" is slow but then leads up to a dance explosion) but I can understand Madonna's thinking. Her singing on this album is very comparable to the singing she did on the 'Evita' album, but with more emotion.I know industry insiders and Madonna critics are going to have an absolute heart attack when hearing this album, which will be an absolute blockbuster. The music isn't really all radio-friendly since radio is controlled mostly by rap,but it will definitely find it's audience.I only hope the title of the album changes by the time it gets released

hmmm

Wow, thats the most exciting news ive heard so far, although im totally reluctant to ever believe this kind of post. Madonna said she was mixing her record this week, so we know its totally finished and i reckon an october release is realistic. Its possible that they'd do an advance hearing of the album unmixed, but it does beg the question why? Maybe they do want to release info on the album to whip up a hype, but it seems a tad odd.

Most of the track listings so far have been a bit laughable, these sound quite cool, particularly every dog has its day and Billy. Im not liking the chawumbawumba references though, that sound is sooo dated (although that song was really catchy). Ive said all along i hoped this album contained great SONGS. not just cutting edge production, but songs that will last beyond her interpretation of them. I loved American Life, but it just didnt have any classic songs on it. I expect 2-3 madonna classics on each album, fingers crossed for this one.

Same here. Sounds incredible but I doubt I have susptions about this review. Obiviously, some of the song titles are at least vaguely familar ("New York" is the much discussed "I Love New York") and the fact that the reviewer never mentions these as already leaked titles is a little to sly! Something tells me if the album is this good, she'll second guess it and change it.

Billy don't fall -- a song about a gay guy

Billy was a young boy
Who's fate did decree
That he would like only other boys
So being with a boy came to him naturally
Billy was a green boy
His thoughts so naive
He wondered why he was so victimised
And his fear brought him close to me suddenly

But

Billy my friend
Don't fall in love with me
I'm not that kind of guy
But I'll stand by your side
If you need me to be

But

Billy my friend
Don't fall in love with me
Though it can't be wrong to be
To be what you are

Billy was a sick boy
His life fading to grey
He tried to grab for straws of family
But his loved ones turned young Billy away
Billy died a young man
His face to the wind
And of the things I regret the most
Was seeing how hate and fear killed a friend

But

Billy my friend
Don't fall in love with me
I'm not that kind of guy
But I'll stand by your side
If you need me to be

But

Billy my friend
Don't fall in love with me
Though it can't be wrong to be
To be what you are

I love the pre-release hype lol

The fake tracklistings....the fan-made CD covers...the rumored collaborations....the phoney "insider" reports ("a friend of a friend of a friend who works for Warners told me that..."),etc.

It's alot of fun,as long as we don't take it too seriously.

nod

remember all those crazy rumors we heard in 2002 before 'American Life' came out?

***It will be a rock album titled 'Rock Vanity'
***It features a Dr.Dre collaboration titled "Believe Her"
***Other songs include "La Petit","Liquid Love","Can't You See My Mind" and a remake of the 1972 David Bowie classic "Ziggy Stardust" (!)

Did you guys read what the press are saying about her Live8 performance?

Madonna is back! Her voice is rich, supple and perfect. She's never looked better. Her face is tight and shining. Her body is lithe as ever. She's still the superstar.Joss Stone, the 18-year old phenom, should take note: you can have a great voice but you need a persona.Madonna's is overflowing!---FOX NEWS

If Madonna---then in a trouser and sporting brown hair---had sounded a bit raw in Philadelphia in 1985,this time in Hyde Park she was vibrant---a real star of the show...in a memorable moment,Madonna grabbed Birhan and engaged her in a dance---CNN

At Live Aid,it was Queen. When Madonna walked off the stage few could deny she was the show's star.Energy, beauty, attitude, awesome vocal back-up and incredible dancing from cartwheeling Chavs in the white tracksuits. When Madge threatened to carry on singing until the last person was clapping,no one watching could doubt she had the staying power to carry out the threat---SUNDAY MIRROR

On a day when rock and pop veterans showed the new kids how to do it,Madonna stole the show.Whether welcoming Birhan Woldu, the Ethiopian famine survivor saved by Live Aid's efforts,or berating VIPs in the "golden circle" in the front of the stage---Lady Madge was in complete control.Memories of a plump chick in legings rolling about at the original Live Aid were forgotten as 21st century Madonna proved the older generation can do better---The Mirror
