Indeed, she knows what she's doing when she chooses the songs to perform.

I was partial to Like a Prayer. To this day, I think it's one of her best-structured, most enduring songs. That performance was as good as the Blonde Ambition performance.

I know its only a minor thing, but i thought the title was Confessions On A Dancefloor.

I prefer this to Defying Gravity, i really am thrilled shes making an album of dance music. Hopefully it will be music made around some really solid songs this time, not just a cutitng edge sound.

I go crazy anytime she does "Like A Prayer".That song is just heavenly (no pun intended) and it always works well in a live setting, especially with the choir.

The RIT one was great especially with crowd participation, but I'm glad she used the choir this time.

I loved the blond ambition performance. I downloaded the Truth Or Dare version and that is one stunning performance she gives, it looks amazing (justification alone that a Blond Ambition DVD should be with the Alek Keshishian footage).

I love elements of the new version. I think the synth strings in the background, sound beautiful (as does madonnas voice singing it), however i think this version is a bit too plodding, and i do not like the chord change after the climax of the song. That used to be the most uplifting part of the song, where the gospel singer is belting out "oh yeah yeah yeah yeah", yet now they go to a more minor chord, and the song breaks down.

My dream is for Madonna to perform the song, as it is on the 12" single, with full choir and dancers etc.....that would be amazing.

swiped this from another board....

Apparently, somebody at Warner Bros. likes the posts I've made at this board.I got an invite to a listen of Madonna's new album.I thought it must have been a joke! The people at Warner Bros. were so nice to me.They said they didn't want me to release any information about her album because there still could be changes to it.On the other hand,it sounds like they purposely hired me to "leak" information about it,so here it goes...

The title is 'Confessions On A Dancefloor'.It's a cheesy, desperate title for an album that doesn't need desperate titles.I've followed Madonna for 23 years. This album blows away anything she has ever done. It's not "all dance" as she and others have described. It's actually dance mixed with rock.I would say the closest thing to compare it to is Chumbawamba (sp?).In fact, there's a track called "Would It Make You Happy?" that sounds alot like Chumbawamba's "Amnesia".The rep said that it should be the first single and it will hit the airwaves in August. The song is also sort of like "Human Nature" where she berates her critics, but it is MUCH MUCH better. It's a song anybody, who is being brought down by the jealousy of others, can identify with.

Then there's a song called "New York".It's a tribute song, very hardcore dance. This song will be the album's "Ray Of Light".Her vocals are absolutely incredible on this track."You can say I'm not American but never say I'm not a New Yorker" is one line that I remember faintly.

"Every Dog Has It's Day" is dedicated to our favorite news anchor Bill O Reilly. In this song, she sarcastically whispers phrases from the famous "OReilly sex tapes".She laughs "anyone want a falafel?".She doesn't mention his name once in the song. It's really hysterical.

"The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" is the only song that perhaps doesn't fit on the album, but still danceable. It reminds me of something from 'I'm Breathless' in that it has a 50s feel to it.

The last track I heard, which was both beautiful and haunting,is called "Billy".Musically, this is one of the best songs ever recorded. In the song, she follows a teenage boy who is about to commit suicide. You don't learn that it is because of his homosexuality until the end of the song.It starts off haunting...she whispers the song more than sings it,but it is absolutely beautiful...."Please Billy you are not to blame...God loves you,he made you this way" she sings. The room was practically in tears by the end of the song as she cries and pleads for "Billy" not to take his life.I can only imagine what the video will be like.

The rating for this record is a 10/10.I was upset that there aren't any real ballads on this album ("Billy" is slow but then leads up to a dance explosion) but I can understand Madonna's thinking. Her singing on this album is very comparable to the singing she did on the 'Evita' album, but with more emotion.I know industry insiders and Madonna critics are going to have an absolute heart attack when hearing this album, which will be an absolute blockbuster. The music isn't really all radio-friendly since radio is controlled mostly by rap,but it will definitely find it's audience.I only hope the title of the album changes by the time it gets released

hmmm

When you hear someone claim that the album is better than anything she's ever done (ROL, LAP anyone) then you know you have to hear it.

And you get your rock too David wink

AL never got this kind of attention before its release.

Let's sort out the rumored tracks, and see if we can come up with some kind of actual tracklist....

Several months ago,we started hearing alot of buzz about these rumored songs...

"Stare"
"Twisted Logic"
"Liquid Love"
"Goddess"
"In An Instant"
"You're The One"
"The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You"
"Imagine"

Two other song titles that were mentioned at the time ("If You Were Here" and "Haunted") are confirmed fakes. In fact, these are not even Madonna songs at all. They appear on a CD titled 'Haunted' by an artist named Poe.

Surprisingly, another new tracklist popped up several weeks ago,and it appeared on numerous fansites. We then learned that the possible (working) title of the album is 'Defying Gravity'...

"Withered"
"Insanity Fantasy"
"Bad Nature"
"Exhilaration"
"I Trust Nothing"
"Defying Gravity"
"A Perfect World"
"Way Off Base"
"I Love New York"
"The Demon's Disco"
"Beyond/Why Does It End"
"Following The Sun"

and now,lo and behold, some more rumored song titles have appeared, this time for a new album titled 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' (a title which has been confirmed by Madonna herself)...

"Would It Make You Happy" (the first single)
"Every Dog Has It's Day"
"Billy"
"Confessions On A Dancefloor" (let's assume there will be a title track)

hmmm

The Devil Wouldn't Recognize you and I Love New York continue to exist according to the review.

It will be funny to look at this when the album comes out and see how much actually exists.

I gotta admit, that previous tracklist from a few weeks ago (the one that starts off with the song "Withered") looked very convincing to me.I'd be willing to bet that those songs really exist.

One of his female assistants sued him last year, claiming that he sexually harassed her,and engaged in kinky phone sex with her, lol. The smutty details of her lawsuit were posted on a website (smokinggun.com?) and there were some outrageous claims made by this woman.
