Motley Fucking Crue kicked ass today. I must say.

They were there? Oh no, I missed it!

which songs did they sing?

Motley did 'Kickstart My Heart', 'Home Sweet Home' & 'Dr. Feelgood'. They sounded awesome.
Also, for the person who asked earlier, Deep Purple played in Toronto, not London.
If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

I couldn't stay home to watch all of this, since it was so beautiful outside where I was at today and the city was having a huge summer festival. party dancing jig I was hoping to find something good to Tivo, but those assholes at MTV and VH1 did a massive hack job on the telecast. mad First, they showed mostly highlights instead of actually broadcasting the live performances, then they talked through most of the acts while they were singing! I told people that this event should have been broadcast on C-SPAN and C-SPAN2. I caught some of the highlight show on ABC, which I guess was okay, but I guess I'll have to hope this ends up on DVD soon. I didn't see Mariah's performance, but I saw her hamming it up on stage during the finale (and not looking very good at it). I love her, but she needs to quit trying to upstage other artists at events like this; especially people like Paul McCartney, since it makes it appear that she does not respect her predecessors.

i just saw the amended version on ABC T.V.

i give it 8 of of 10.

my faves:

1)The Who

2)Pink Floyd

3)Madonna

4)Mariah Carey

5)The Dave Matthews Band(doing that funky two-step as he sang "too much")

6)Sir Paul McCartney-Solo And with Bono.

7)Stevie Wonder.good (except for when norman bates jr came on stage to sing with him.)

8)Annie Lennox

i want to see the uncut version when it comes on dvd. biggrin

i thought that each song that artist picked fit.

thumbs up! clapping

oops...forgot about Sting.he rocked too.

I missed MTV's coverage but I'm watching the ABC highlights and they just cut Madonna off in the middle of Like A Prayer and went to commercial, they haven't done this to anybody else so far. She sounded good for Madonna. I really want to see the rest of The Who's performance, they were awesome. I also liked Pink Floyd and Sting and the message in his song I'll/We'll Be Watching You. The Black Eyed Peas were awful as usual and Mariah's dress was awful. Stevie Wonder sounds good too. Musicwise, the best thing about this event was that there weren't too many pop stars like Britney (for obvious resons), Christina, Justin, Backstreet Boys, J-Lo etc. Just real music. I pray they release this on DVD and give the proceeds to charity.

or the Microsoft commercial with Ray of Light in the background, right. I mean its fuckin' Madonna, why did they have to screw up the timing of the commercials with her performance, of all people. She's one of the main acts we wanted to see.

I was surprised that MTV/VH1 actually showed Madonna do two songs but cut the end of "Ray Of Light"....I heard "Music" on the radio (the semi classic rock station, of all places!).

this is the morning after, reporting from mcdonalds at kings cross at 7.30am

last nites show was amazing

pink floyd did not dissapoint 24 years of waiting on a reunion, they sounded like they did 30 years ago. 1 backing singer and 1 xtra guitarist (snowy white and durga mcbrown i think) and dick parry, original saxophonist on dsotm

they sounded like the nightmarish reunion tours of 80s and 90s were just a bad nightmare

and how good were the who?

that was some lineup 2 support floyds comeback. lets hope they stick 2gether 4 a bit

btw hyde park was so well organised and every1 so well behaved due 2 alcohol ban, and no real notable troube in edinburgh either

i get my train in 2 hours 4 the trip 2 edinburgh, the final push is wednesday. lets c how edinburghs concert can top london!

so thats wtf they were

they were showing bits of the other shows in between songs in london without telling u wtf ppl were, in london most ppl didnt have a scooby who most of the american acts were, like linkin park and bernard mathews band, even after telling folks who they were, they still said who?

london had by far the best line up, and strangely most of the acts were british, even madonna is part brit now. we also showed up philly in that our acts had instruments whereas half of what we saw from philly were rappers/singers and dancers

philly had better weather. nod too bad madonna isn't all brit.

it certainly looked like it 2 me, at least backing tapes, u cant cant dance like that and sing like she did. the thing about an act like madonna is that it doesnt really matter if she sings live or not as her show is all about the act and dancing, like michael jacksons

both could do small intimate stripped down "unplugged" style showcases and b good, as they have the back catalogue, in fact if mj wanted 2 restart his career, an elvis 68 comeback special type thing with an intimate live performace of singing rather than dancing, would b the trick

i kinda half thought mj wouldve turned up and introduced some1

they had bill gates 4 fucks sake, i thought he was going 2 announce the longhorn release date. i wonder what steve jobs was thinking

I;ve heard that Bob Geldof wouldn't let anyone mime. and She sounded Live because there was that off note during Ray of Light, hot performance

Madonnna was live. She wasn't even doing strenuous dance moves, and she usually doesn't even mime to those on her own tours.
