What Was The First Album You Ever Got? Believe it or not, this was the first album I ever recieved. Yet, Purple Rain was and still is, the one that made me a fan of Prince. When I was 6 years old, I watched the film and I just completely loved the score and just fell in love with the album that I played it 100 times a week. Darling Nikki scared the heck out of me when I first heard it and When Doves Cry was really groundbreaking for me. So, what was the first album you ever got? Check me out and add me on:

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

we had gone shopping at Roses to buy things for my sis because she was on her way to college in '83. i snuck the album in the shopping cart and my mom didn't realize it until we were at the counter. she looked at my sister and said "oh you want that? i thought you didn't like michael". she was like "that is not mine". then my mom looked down at me and said baby did you put this in here and i was like "yes maam". she said well if you really want it i'll get it for you. i was so excited. i was the happiest 10 yr old ever! my sister and i are 9 yrs apart so i never realized i would miss her as much as i did once she was gone. i would pull out my album and dance in the bedroom which had suddenly become all mine and have a good time.

I got this classy album for my 9th birthday:
Daisy Duke sang this real swanky number called Down Home American Girl. I don't know what London is like I've never seen Venice at night I don't travel all over the world Cuz right here's the greatest And I'm gonna stay just A down home American girl! The next records I got were the following year for my 10th birthday: [Edited 7/2/05 6:19am]
