I actually just watched it and that's a bit of an exagaration, he was standing next to her with a girl who gave her flowers and she thanks him as she walks towards other fans waiting for pictures. so she she shouldn't pose for a picture just because he *might* be homeless? that's even more sad. why do u asume he's homleless? and should be given money? he was among a sea of fans.

I think Sea of fans is a bit of an overstatement, i count ONE person with flowers, the other 4 people look bored and not at all excited to see her, most of the people were photographers and the "homeless" guy looks as if he was just on his way down the street when she came out and blocked his way. i'm sure in Mariah's head it was a sea of fans, but in reality, not quite.

Althought picture looks odd because of their obvious difference is economic class, I don't see the big deal, why was he there among all the photographers and fans?in the video the guy says thank you for posing with him, how do u know he didn't ask to meet her? these are all assumptions and says alot more those making assumptions about this guy,, I doubt she had long enough to stop and think is this guy homeless? maybe I shouldn't take a picture with him and ignore him? . and why would u give someone money if they didn't ask for any? and what does a brother in a wheel chair have to do with LIVE8? seriously making a big deal over nothing

I think there is a point to this pic

I think the point was to show the extreme of wealth and poverty and to show there is something terribly wrong with the picture of someone wealthy and someone poor in the picture together. They are in the same country, in the same government and if the government stepped in to eliminate poverty, this picture wouldn't have been able to be taken
