Why is Mel B refusing to show up? If Mel C can say she is no longer mad at Geri for leaving at the height of the SpiceGirl Mania.
If Geri can agree to come back. Why is Mel B who has no carear to speak of refuse to be apart of the Spice Girls again? she doesn't want to look back on the past, who does she think she is Madonna? Geri released a statement that she is upset her and the other 3 who agreed to show up are as well. Damn Mel B. or is this all a ploy for next year when they finally approach 10years since "wannabe?" You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Beside the professional/personal ego, Mel B. (Scary Spice) is still looking for respect from the America/British black community (especially in hip-hop/R&B). And please keep in mind that part of the reason why Geri (Ginger Spice) left the group years ago really did have something to do with the one problem that The Spice Girls never had before the media provoked the situation itself: Leadership!!! Scary Spice vs. Ginger Spice. Remember that? I might be wrong about the situation today (2005 AD), but I bet Mel B. is still a little piss with Geri about THAT subject! And to me, this is a damn shame because I was looking forward for a Spice Girls reunion album. Beside, I had enough with Destiny's Child/Beyonce already. ....But that's another story. [Edited 6/27/05 22:06pm] it should be obvious where the engery in the group came from. Geri has done better solo than the other four and the group kinda lost steam when Geri walked away. Mel needs to swallow her pride and realize that she wouldn't be where she is today with out the Spice Girls. it always irrates me when an artist or band gets down on their past hits. it always amazes me how they forget that they wouldn't be where they are without them. like during the Stripped era Xtina was always dogging her first album like it was evil, and she would talk about how long ago it was. I just wanted to say "Bitch it was 2 years ago." Mads, Kylie and Prince have done the same thing sometime it makes me want to scream. I can totally understand why she is not up for a full-on reunion/ new material and all that...
But to not do Live 8 with them and to therefore stand in the way of the other girls doing it just seems petty and selfish. On the other hand, I am going to Live 8 and I don't wanna see the frikkin Spice Girls, so what do I care?! | |

I'm sure he would do it since he's more Spice Girl in a way than any of them ever were

Mel B is probably bitter because it seemed like her solo career was the least weel recieved. Geri sells (or at least sold) a lot of CDs and is probably the best known Spice girl overall (and of them probably sells the most CDs to a small but loyal audience in America). Mel C and Emma had albums strong enough to see their first and last (respectively) Cds get an American release. And while Victoria's album failed so bad that she was dropped from a mhuge contract and has since has only released one double A side single, with the promise of a deal with an American label, at the end of the day, her last name is Beckham and she is loved in England. | |

If I am not worng, Geri is the only one to not get dropped from her record label since going solo....? Hence the others (who she dumped by leaving the group) would be a little narked, I dare say. Still, swallow all the pride for a concert that means as much as Live 8, ferchirssakes! | |

Mel C. has 3 albums Northern Star Reason Beautiful Intentions I know but only the first got an American release (with no fanfare although I'm sure "I Turn to You" was huge on the dance charts). | |
