Last week, I was walking through a shopping center and while I was walking to my car, a white guy with a group of white people looked at me and said "MIKE JONES" kinda like a shout out. I was looking at him crazy because I didn't know who he was talking about. He then noticed this and said to me "You don't know about Mike Jones" and I said "No" and kept walking. I thought he was maybe he was talking about a basketball player or maybe even Roy Jones Jr.

So, I'm watching the awards tonight and finally saw, and heard, Mike Jones. Besides my "what the fuck is this?" emotions running through me, I couldn't help but think of last week and go...did I have a racial moment?...

i only watched half the show, but my THREE BIGGEST complaints are:

1. How in the hell do you not get the name of William Patten wrong in a Gladys Knight tribute? He's the Pip that just recently died, so that's a double disgrace! doesn't anybody proof read the info that goes on those teleprompters?

2.
I'm all for keeping it real bruthas and sistas, but damn...do some of them knuckleheads have to wear basketball jerseys to every damn event? you obviously go a little money, put on a linen suit or sumthin!

3. Do us all a favor next year and pick people who know how to read off of a teleprompter and are savvy enough to not say on national TV that they can't see what the teleprompter says. Alicia Keys saying she couldn't read Gladys' "heartfelt" tribute makes the one she gave Prince at the RRHOF seem awfully reheared now.

As for Terence Howard, they joked on the aftershow that he was sweating backstage and said he still had Bayawnsay's glitter on his hand and he'd probably have a conversation with his wife when he got home.

They also mentioned that Magic had it worst because Cookie was sitting right in the audience and that the ride home was probably very quiet.

I think Bayawnsay was mentioned like 8 separate times from people on stage. If they continue as a group in the future they really should just change their name to Bayawnsay & Nem.
