i came across this while checkin out the new stuff on strange reaction. NWF (wherever you are--haven't seen you in a while), i know for a fact that you'll love this just as much as i do:

Thanks for postin.I'm a fan or familiar with alot of those bands listed in that Roctober article.& Ive been wanting hear that Pure Hell single for years!!Other hardcore/punk bands back in the day that had black members Urban Waste/Major Conflict & Fang

That listing is pretty thorough. The only person missing I can think of is Andy Anderson from The Cure, but he was only with them for a year or two (1983-1984), so he's an extremely small footnote.

Thank you, Dansa, for that wonderful overview of Blacks in Punk and New Wave. Anyone that tells you that thoses types of mucis were just a White thing, they should see this website.

Super nice thread!!! Growing up in the valley in So Cal, there were a few black punk rockers/new wavers in my Jr High school and even more in my high school. So I was fairly hip to that music scene.
