forget world hunger and tsunamis--paula abdul rails against nail salons !! shallow heiffer Abdul urges tough nail salon standards SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — American Idol judge Paula Abdul urged California legislators to force nail salons to clean up their act, testifying Monday about her yearlong health ordeal after an unsanitary manicure. "I'm no stranger to pain, but this time the pain was so excruciating that even my hair touching my thumb caused me to scream," Adul said of her ordeal. AP photo Abdul said a trip in April 2004 to a Studio City nail shop that used unclean equipment sent her in and out of the hospital, and made her the butt of late-night talk show jokes. "Being a professional dancer, I'm no stranger to pain, but this time the pain was so excruciating that even my hair touching my thumb caused me to scream," Abdul told the California Senate Business and Professions Committee in Sacramento. The legislation, sponsored by Democratic Assemblyman Leland Yee, would establish safety standards for manicure and pedicure equipment and rewrite state regulations mandating that nail shops follow sanitary practices. Customers are vulnerable to bacterial infections if manicurists do not properly sanitize their tools between jobs. The bill was expected to pass in committee. If that occurs, it would likely come before the full Senate sometime in the next two weeks. "I was publicly humiliated," Abdul said in her closing statement. "That is why with an open heart and a selfless agenda, I implore you to pass this bill." you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

Man, this bitch has so many health problems that she publicly whines about. She probably thinks she really has it tough. "I had a haircut, and the dye made my hair hurt! It was excruciating so I had to take 5 more Percocets than usual (yum!) for 5 years. It was SUCH AN ORDEAL" [Edited 6/27/05 21:23pm]

'Idol' contestant Clark cited for battery SACRAMENTO (AP) — The American Idol contestant who claims to have had an affair with judge Paula Abdul was cited on a misdemeanor battery charge after getting into an alleged food fight with his record company manager at a hotel, Sacramento police said Monday. Former American Idol contestant, Corey Clark, was arrested after getting an argument with Laura Kathleen Troy, a record company executive. By Ida Mae Astute, AP/ABC Corey Clark, 24, was ordered to appear in Sacramento County Superior Court on July 22 after police were called to Sacramento's Sheraton Grand Hotel on Saturday morning by guests, said police spokesman Sgt. Justin Risley. Clark and the record company executive, Laura Kathleen Troy, were having breakfast in one of the two rooms they rented when they began arguing over an incident from Clark's Friday night concert at Raley Field in West Sacramento, Risley said. "It ended up as a food fight, throwing dishes. The injuries were relatively minor," Risley said. "I think it was mutual, a back-and-forth kind of thing." Police found both Clark and Troy with scratches on their arms and cited Clark for misdemeanor battery. Troy, 34, of Los Angeles, was uncooperative and did not want charges filed, Risley said. "It wasn't even clear they were in a dating relationship," Risley said. "She handles his business affairs. ... They happened to be having breakfast together." "They got in a van together and left together. I guess they went back to L.A. together," he said. Clark's representative, Jed Wallace, did not return a telephone message Monday from The Associated Press seeking comment. Risley said it is standard police policy to cite and release those charged with misdemeanor battery. Clark alleges he had an affair with Abdul and that she coached him on how to do better during the 2003 American Idol competition, a claim Abdul denies. Clark was dismissed from the Fox network show for not disclosing that he had a 2002 misdemeanor arrest alleging he assaulted his younger sister in Kansas. these two deserve each other...they are like the new Bobby and Whitney you look better on your facebook page than you do in person
