True! That's what I like most about Jamerson - The way his lines weave in and around the tunes - it sounds deceptively subtle - That is, until you try to play those lines yourself! lines like Darling Dear, Bernadette, Love Is Here, And Now You're Gone and What's Happening, Brother-- almost broke my neck trying to play that stuff, lol ....

you could listen to any talking heads album on headphones and try to isolate tina's bass as you listen, and i guarantee you'll be blown away more than a few times. the woman is criminally underrated as a bass player.

BG Baby as always, I have to agree with your choices. You mentioned my all time favorite funk legends Larry, Bootsy, and Benard. Whew, this is serious Funk overload but it feels good. headbang guitar

Forget me nots has a great groove but the subtle fills towards the end are very difficult.

Bernard on Chic Everybody Dance is also an insane groove.

Pino's fretless on everytime you go

Also Jim Creeghan of Barenaked ladies has also had great melodic lines.
Music is the best...
