As a matter of fact, the 21min.+ version is the real deal, the other is , as far as I know, edited.
I have most of the original versions, like the 15 min. version of Joy, which is also nice. The reason for his orchestra-like sounds is the fact that his music teacher introduced him to classical music like Beethoven at an early age, so he kinda mixed it with soul later on in life. The only ones I can find are the 19+ minute versions, one vocal (is the other instrumental?). Anyway it's on the Shaft soundtrack & the Vol. 1 greatest hits. The full version is on the soundtrack..... Also whenever possible, people should avoid "Greatest hits" or "Best of" collections.... they're almost always either edited or leave out good songs... | |
