Elvis and MJ : Two Sides of a same Coin

Raise and fall...

Like Elvis Michael Jackson was more focus to be the King and selling big all the time than releasing great albums...

Like Elvis Mike was living in his ranch and lost the notions of reality...

Like Elvis at the end of his life, Mike is a joke and looks ugly now...

I see a lot of similarities between them...

But the most strange is the fact that Mike has said that "He saw the fall of Elvis but he will never take the same direction "in his autobiography ... lol

I think the MJ of today is anything BUT Elvis in his later years.

oh sooooo HOT!!!!

BTW I was watching Priscilla on Larry King and I got a similar thought, not as Kryzie though.

It is interesting how ppl call the same qualities of those two man differently.
Elvis was called MANchild. MJ is childish or in better cases child-like.
While Elvis really CARES for ppl, MJ is basically selfish whose care is pretended for the sake of molesting ppl.
It is OK that Elvis couldn´t handle finances, cause he could always earn more again, but MJ has been for some ppl hopelessly broke for the past two years and the way he spends his money is just crazy.
And the list could go on and on.....
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

ummmm, so is michael. tell me who else has an album that sells 8 million and is called a flop? he SOLD OUT at madison square garden in 2001 for 2 nights. his number ones has sold 7 million. his number ones dvd is STILL in the charts (well in australia anyway) at number 17 and it was released 2 years ago. also michael was selling out STADIUMS with the history tour, not lousy arenas like elvis

i hate how people try and downgrade michaels recent achievements just because of thriller and the accusations and cos of the fact they think he's a freak. justin timberlakes album sold 6 million worldwide and that was called an ENORMOUS hit, but michael sells more than that, but he supposedly 'cant sell anymore' rolleyes

i think michael meant death. he would never let himself die young like elvis and destroy himself in that kind of a way

Well thats not really all that strange considering mike DIDN'T take the same direction. An excessive amount of drugs, alchohol, and fat, which eventually as we know killed him..in more ways than one.
Mike did a total 180 out of THAT direction
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

I do see a similarity, in that the images of these man has overtaken the artistry. Not that these other issues shouldn't be mentioned, but that is ALL that is mentioned . So most people can't hear the music anymore without certain ideas in their heads .

Elvis has become "The White Devil who STOLE the Black man's music "

Michael is "That child molesting PERVERT"

The music is now secondary to the persona

sad, but true neutral

i notice that with every elvis thread it turns into that, and every michael thread (not on this forum anymore since the verdicts been read) but on other non-related michael forums it turns into that issue also
