PrintableI think Janet is beautiful with weight on her -- she looked sick in that 'All for you video' --- Most Black women will NEVER be a size 2 - for one that's sick to me women should be soft I think-- and most of us have hips and ass ( and that's NOT a bad thing to us)- it never has been -- it looks like other people are starting to jump on the ass bandwagon as well - so take notice!

i think janet might just be pregnant. she hasn't gained weight all over her body, just her face and upper body, kind of like how pregnant women gain weight. | |

If that's the case, Janet might retire from the music industry to make room for motherhood. But even then, Virgin Records still has a Janet greatest hits album to release first. But we'll see. | |

Yeah, that's the truth!! She looked great. I just think that the sweatshirt is oversized, so it just makes her look "bigger" than she is. But no, she isn't anorexic-"Hollywood" thin. So I guess, if people are applying that standard, Janet might be considered "fat" in comparison. But SHE IS NO WHERE NEAR FAT as far as real-life is concerned. It's a shame that some of her fans want her to "tone-up" or lose weight just to comply with this current "vision" that people have of their stars. It's too bad that Janet just can't start a new, healthy-looking "natural" standard for a WOMAN who is obviously not in her teens, twenties, and nearly out of ther thirties. But that's just the nature of the business I guess. Then we wonder why so many celebrities end-up with eating disorders, substance abuse problems, and/or self-esteem issues that require years of "deprogramming." Yeah, they are public figures with millions of dollars, but hey they are just human. I can understand the "interest," but I'm sure Janet is well-aware that she is "heavier." I'm sure she looks at the pics or can't fit into her favorite pair of last-year's jeans. She doesn't need to be reminded of that fact constantly. I agree. And I think that it is the result of and response to industry pressure coupled with fan expectation. Honestly, I thought she looked wonderful during the Damita Jo era. Now, I really can't tell if she has put on additional weight since last year. To me she STILL looks great. It's really hard to tell when she is wearing an oversized sweatshirt. However, she certainly doesn't need to be "bone-thin" to dance or I guess compete anymore. In fact, it would be refreshing for her just to stay the way she is most comfortable, but still be in shape for a tour if she decides to that for her next cd. She doesn't need to be as skinny as a rail, coz that is NOT REALLY Janet. | |
