Stone Roses way down at 78! Only one nod to Blur!! And no rank given to Primal Scream's "Sreamadelica"!!! Oh well, that being said, it's a pretty good list! Nowhere near as unbalanced as most of the British lists though. I agree. All in all this is a pretty damn good list. And, I proably wouldn't have made that comparison had people not already mentioned NME. That just took my brain in another direction...

Jeff Buckley shouldn't be way up at 82! "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Conduit for Sale, Two States, is about the only thing I like on that album. I don't read spin, so ....rather listen to Nirvana, Helmet, The Melvins, Flipper sorry to disagree, that is my Favorite pavement album of all time and I do get their appeal

One which is very commerical and popular at the masses Or like this one, where music snobs list acts that were cool because they were unpopular with the masses Um. Every cd listed on this list was popular with the masses. SOTT? three million sold. Popular with the masses? no. critically? Yes.

No Me'Shell Ndegeocello?

It's a little odd that more people here haven't been complaining about all the PRINCE albums that aren't on the list. Of course the usual "all lists are stupid and they only want to sell magazines" b.s. is present and accounted for.
As for my own knee-jerk reaction, where's Elvis Costello?

As for my own knee-jerk reaction, where's Elvis Costello? Surely you don't think these magazines do these lists for their own fulfillment. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Surely you don't think these magazines do these lists for their own fulfillment. Cute. My point is, it's tiresome to see every one of these lists dismissed for the same reasons...when the REAL reason is that whoever's complaining doesn't like how the list came out. Of COURSE you don't have to agree with every last choice for Christ's sake. That doesn't mean the whole exercise is invalid, or pointless.

I think it good but not as great as I expected. Autograph, Brave New Century and Beautiful Pain are the highlights for me. The B-sides of the Single Refugees are really good too.
But I guess that is off-topic here.Maybe we can start a new thread.

I'm hardly the biggest U2 fan, but the Joshua Tree doesn't make the top 100?
Much of the list is good (and fairly obvious), but it is equally filled with overrated pretentious critic choice music. Check this song out at:

Much of the list is good (and fairly obvious), but it is equally filled with overrated pretentious critic choice music. I never liked 'The Joshua Tree' that much. Overall I only like a few U2 tracks here and there and their only studio album I felt compelled to buy was 'Achtung Baby' which made the list.
