Anybody Remember The Blaxploitation Soundtrack? 
I went back and saw this classic blaxploitation film last night and boy did Miss Pam Grier look foxy hot back then. Anyway, that score Roy Ayers and the crew did for that classic just sounds fresh. The main theme, "Coffy Is The Color" is just a song I can't get out of my mind. The funky bass lines were just infectious. I couldn't hesitate to order the soundtrack today. I can't wait until it gets here. Oh, did I forget to mention that Shining Symbol is one most grooviest cuts I've ever heard at the moment? Has anyone ever heard the soundtrack? This soundtrack is right up there with "Superfly" in terms of great tunes. It was out of print for a long time but it's good to hear you can still order it. Just a little bit of trivia...Since "Coffy" did so well in the theatres, The writers started writing a sequel called "Burn, Coffy Burn". The movie company (AIP) felt that sequels didn't do so well, so the film was re-written and the chracter's name was switched to "Foxy Brown". | |
