I'm not confusing the issue, I'm just applying the same standards to both acts. If Prince made a comeback, then NKOTB weren't R&B, but if Prince never went anywhere, then NKOTB may have been R&B.

Aristically, Prince is the superior. But since you brought Billboard into the discussion, both have to be judged on the same level commercially. The charts don't apply to a boyband but not to our wee Purple One.

Since when have you become an expert on R & B music tell me that?

There is no since in debate the issue b/c you are unaware what kind of groups are classified as R&B since you are canada.

I know this post is three days old by now, but seriously?! You cannot believe that! boo

rolleyes You're right this post is 3 days old and you can't let things rest can you. Well since you're curious about my statement I wasn't implying that Meow wouldn't be familiar w/R&B because she's canada.Basically, I am speaking in reference to music scene b/c its much different than the US. I quite familiar with the music scene there b/c I have friends who live there that I visit often plus I watch MuchMusic.

Yeah, I actually prefer their remake. Jordan got a great falcetto. Better then justins anyday.

I have no idea why they let donnie sing on "cover girl". His voice is charming, but off key lol

Canada is just as American music-wise as the US is. They aren't playing East Coast fiddlers and Jann Arden 24/7 on the radio here. lol

I live in Canada, but I think you're confusing the homegrown Canadian music scene (which the Junos caters to) with the mainstream music scene, which is just all the same shit they play on American airwaves. Oh, except Avril and Shania get more play here. But I can't really count that as a positive element. lol

Well, I notice a difference in R & B. As for Pop/ Rock, there's no difference.

Let me just say that MuchMusic used to play way more Canadian content, but in the past 10 years, it's just MTV (but behind by 1 or 2 months). Ashlee Simpson is da bomb! nuts

nod I am disapointed at how MuchMusic has sold out and definitely don't play as much Cananadian artist as they used to. Back in the day, it really used to be my shit especially when they would toss the X-mas tree. lol

Basically, anything that's (re)produced or remade by any of these new artists is just CRAP anyways.

And for the record, "old skool" isnt just about age anymore.....it's about the mind.....the spirit.....the soul.....the music..... cool

Ok now who said old school isn't only about age. With age comes experience, knoweldge, and wisdom. Could it be that you have a chip on your shoulder b/c you're younger and you missed out on a period of real music? Perhaps if this is the case. Just chill, its only music .

Okay, you're goin a lil' too far with this. IMO, it's really NO BIG DEAL.
But can I state my opinions without someone really taking them to heart and making assumptions about me? Why do I have to have a chip on my shoulder? It's good to be young, and anyways, if I really missed out as far as music's concerned, I wouldn't be listenin to the stuff now, nor would I even know about it....and FYI, I really appreciate it.

Perhaps if this is the case. Just chill, its only music .

You prove my case just with that post. This is why I laugh at some people when they claim they know R&B. You're one of the frauds I speak daily of.

But just to show you I'm a fair man, name 10 R&B songs by New Kids On The Block. That's WELL under HALF of what YOU claim they did that was R&B.

One of the "frauds" you speak of, huh? As if I don't know music?
Sweetie, you don't know me. Don't DARE go there..... no no no!

Anyways, go to cdzinc.com and listen to 'em:

*I'll Be Loving You (Forever)
*Valentine Girl
*Let's Try It Again
*If You Go Away
*Hangin' Tough
*I Remember When
*Whatcha Gonna Do (About It)
*Baby, I Believe In You
*Please Don't Go Girl
and.....*Didn't I Blow Your Mind - an original cut by The Delfonics - which is an R&B cut!!!!!

Now get a Q-Tip and clean them ears. talk to the hand

I have to admit, 8 of those cuts actually ARE trying to appeal to the R&B market. Impressive, Kiss. My apologies for saying you dont know music. I stand corrected.

Man, u joking. Great to see kiss 85 with a list and all, but those songs were pop.

[i]I'll Be Loving You (Forever) - yep. RNB enough. Imagine delfonics signing this baby*Valentine Girl- nope
*Let's Try It Again- cant remember this one
*If You Go Away- nope. Walter a (producer) dont have an rnb bone in his body. Sounds like a bolton or mariah song) *Hangin' Tough- nope. More "rock" then rnb
*I Remember When- hell no.
*Whatcha Gonna Do (About It)- maybe. Groove is their.
*Baby, I Believe In You- definately. Remix was even better. Underated slowjam
*Please Don't Go Girl- yep. Rips off "is this the end", but its better.

Sam was pop by the way. Don't front. wink

Anyway, good to see people discussing NKOTB anyway.
