Michael Jackson is in a much, much better position for a comeback now than he was before these allegations. Before the allegations surfaced in late 2003, after the relative commercial and critical failure of Invincible and X amounts of greatest hits, public interest about Michael Jackson's musical career was at an all time low. They were buying Number Ones in droves (particularly in the UK) but there was little, if no buzz about any new music from MJ.
The single One More Chance was a relatively half-baked effort and didn't ignite any radio interest whatsoever. It is known however, that he was on the brink of signing a deal with Def Jam before the allegations surfaced in 2003 for an album that was supposed to include "We've Had Enough" which later emerged on the boxset. This fell though. However, the papers have been full of articles such as "Can Jacko come back?" in the last few days. There is immense public interest in where Michael will go from here. And because of that, he is in a much better position to release a hit album now than he was before, in spite of everything that's happened. With a strong comeback single, some new moves, a new look and a hot video (all of which was embodied in "Scream") he could have a hit record again. The way he calmly walked out of the courtroom on verdict day without any big scene seemed very out of character for MJ. And he hasn't even released any form of public statement as of yet. He is obviously laying low... which is best both for him and his image right now. But 2006 will be the year for him I reckon. [Edited 6/17/05 6:58am]

L.A. Reid still wants to sign Michael to Def Jam Records. After the amazing comeback he engineered for Mariah Carey, many people are saying he could do the same for Michael. For the time being,I think Mike needs to rest and get his life back together before signing any new record deals.

Can we please give MJ a rest for christ sake. While I am happy for him, I'm sick to death of hearing about him. I'd like to not see or hear from or about him for at least 6 months. Give the man some time to rest and get his damaged life in order.
