just read today that jermaine jackson said in a larry king interview that "he's(michael) always got time or an ear for a melody or a nice beat but the whole environment has been negative , this is a belt tighning time,but michaels no way broke and he's still the nr 1 superstar in the world "

sorry i dont get it surely the nr 1 superstar in the world sells multi million albums and does sold out world tours etc !! i aint sure who the nr 1 superstar is but i certainly dont think its jacko !!

I'd say that surely depends on wether the term "superstar" should only have positive connotations... don't really know how to say what I mean.
He's no Usher nowadays, but in terms of publicity and everyone having an opnion on him, he's by FAR the biggest superstar.

MJ was the biggest superstar there's ever been, but to be honest that star has faded. He's still as famous as ever but he won't likely sell albums like he once did. However, if he turned his life around I guess anything's possible.

He could never release another album and still be the biggest star out there. His look and his craziness are enough to keep people talking about him for years, not to mention the crazy ass fans who would quit their jobs and stand outside the courtroom day after day.
