I believe NBC only planned about three episodes of this show and didn't realize they had a hit on their hands, so now they are scrambling to book out-of-work bands on their show. The problem is that some of these bands have been inactive for several years and they can't find all of the original artists, while others who are still around have already booked summer tours, not to mention those bands who think this show is too cheesy for them.

So basically some old wash up singers/bands are having a contest ?

Sounds like fun , i'd find it a bit humiliating , tho' , if it was me Alot of these people had their #1 pop hit in the 80s or early 90s, and probably have a different perspective now on what their "success" means to them. For artists looking for gigs again, it is a great opportunity to showcase on television. Television hits all kinds of markets that their tours can't.

Baha Men? Are they really serious? They're running out of performers already. "Who Let the Dogs Out" isn't old enough, imo. What was it, like the late 90's? I'm not gonna even bother to watch. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

(about people who have proven their talent) or american idol? or is it ya just wanna bitch bitch bitch bitch? Space for sale...

it's a great biographical information to re-introduce these people.

That is the feeling I got that it is now a hit and they are running out of fresh acts or at least acts that people still care about. But I could be wrong. I would like to see 3rd Base.

so that gives us:
Billy Vera (without the Beaters) Club Nouveau Thelma Houston Glass Tiger Greg Khin I was always a Club Nouveau fan , but it would be really cool to see Thelma win too.

Just seems too bad that their #1 pop hit will be a cover, then they get to follow up with ANOTHER COVER!
I wanna hear "Why You Treat Me So Bad", but it peaked at #39 on the pop charts.
