But, if you mean talent--well, that's a hard one to say. It's hard to beat Chaka's voice, but it's unfair to say Donna's not as good a singer. Two different sounds completely.

Typing Donna Summers can get you in a lot of trouble in some places (I remember this one board where when you printed Summers, you couldn't get your message posted because it was objectionable). For me, it's Donna, who is one of my all time favorites. She writes a lot of lot more and is more proflic (although the last few years haven't shown either of them to make that many discs, although Chaka released a few full ones which Donna can't say). I guess it all depends on personal choice. Nothing wrong with Chaka, though. I bought her biography dirt cheap and it's on the pile of books I want to read this summer (along with Clinton's "My Life" from last summer!).

I like Donna Summers, but to be honest I completely forgot about her until just a couple of years ago. Chaka on the other hand, is unforgettable. She's a true artist and much better than Donna IMHO.

Like Donna's work more than Chaka's solo stuff, but her rufus stuff is much better. Some of Donna's stuff just gets my ass movin', Chaka is a bit overrated on this board (probably because of her Prince connections), but honestly she's the superior artist by a wide margin.

of 'remote-ness'when she sings...wel 2 me at least.

I tend 2 like more of Chaka's music, but I prefer Donna's voice. Chaka can b grating 4 me at times. Of course, I would never say this 2 her if I ever met her 4 fear that she might eat me.

Really depends on what you mean by better. Chaka blows Donna Summers out of the water with her voice.
