I think I know exactly what you're getting at. This is something I was going to bring up in my original post but I wasn't sure how to describe it properly. All the tunes on that album have a very defined groove. It's very James Brown in that each player has a very simple and distinct part to play. However when these parts are combined, you get that AC/DC power rock groove happening. That's the element that attracts me to the sound of that album. Hope that made sense. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

R & B does stand for Rhythm & Blues--that's what AC/DC is. I know that R&B stands for rhythm and blues. It's just got a totally different sound then just straightforward blues though, and I tend to hear more of that sound, the blues, than R&B in their music I guess. They're certainly not Motown or Usher, it's just that they're funkier than most hard rock bands. I think when you say R&B in reference to them you're talking about older stuff like Ray Charles or Wilson Pickett who had more of an emphasis on the "B" maybe Check this song out at:

They groove like fuck.
Simple as that. Watching some of the Bon footage, he was more charismatic. Brian just comes across as a dirty old man to me. Then again, that also has some appeal... Years ago when I was in a band on tour in the States, we had the good luck to get a tour bus driver who wasn't an arsehole. It transpires that he had been driving AC/DC around the previous year. He had a video on the bus of them shot live by a cameraman on stage with the band. I had always wondered why, when seeing AC/DC live with Brian, he'd always look down to the stage floor and laugh. Watching the video, it became pretty clear. Most of the stage would be usually be perspex; underneath it would be an assortment of strippers and porn stars (I recognised a few...I mean, another one of the band did) performing a range of hardcore sex acts on each other. Mystery solved.

Right here baby baba!! (lol) This was the 1st AC/DC LP I ever got. I bought it off this girl for $3 used and I still have it. This LP is CLASSIC. "Back In Black" is still a badass song and Angus Young (in my book) has the best vibrato of any guitarist out there. The beat, riff and vocals still gives me goosebumps when I hear this being blared in a club or a party. The backbeat and some of the riffs are very "Zep" like. Like my man Black, I used to play this song in a cover band and it always brought the house down. Speaking of covers, anyone heard Living Colour's version of this? Good pick lovedad43. This was the LP that brought AC/DC into the mainstream..I always thought of them as a blues band more than metal...They definetly proved to the naysayers that they could carry on with a new singer after Bon died...Think I'm gonna crank this and "Dirty Deeds" tommorow night!

And felt that everything post-Bon was pure bull. With the strength of BIB I just never understood it. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm I never understood it either. I was just talking about this actually a few weeks ago with Slash I believe. He's also a Brain Johnson fan and commented about how a lot of ACDC purists would never admit to liking Johnson over Scott. That's me! Slash is my other account () For years, the only ACDC stuff I knew was with Brian singing, so I always associate the band with him and not Bon Scott. Since I have gotten to know the band's catalogue better, I appreciate the Bon years too, but his death, unfortunately, has meant his status has been artificially inflated. Great frontman and singer etc, I just prefer the BJ years. And Back In Black is a GREAT, GREAT album...

It's a great album though 1977's Let There Be Rock is superior. One of the best rock n roll albums ever.

I'd agree there, but Highway to Hell can't be touched. Definitely their greatest album and, in my mind, one of the few absolutely perfect rock records.
