Michael Jackson will sue Martin Bashir!

Now that the singer has been cleared of all the child molestation charges against him, the word is that he will proceed with a lawsuit against the documentary maker whose footage started the whole case. Martin Bashir’s interviews, broadcast in the UK and in the U.S., caught Jackson on camera admitting that he shared his bed with boys. Jackson is “expected” to sue both Bashir and the U.K. network that did the program, according to This Is London, because they “had broken a promise to allow the star to vet the program.” Although some Jackson watchers believe that he just wants the whole mess behind him, others say it’s a necessary step if he wants to completely clear his name.

Bashir’s office wouldn’t comment on the report and Jackson’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment.

It was first-person journalism though. For instance, Martin Bashir didn't make Michael Jackson hold hands with Gavin. You know what I mean?

On what grounds is it Martin's fault that Michael Jackson made all of those statements during taped interviews?

If he's smart, he'll close the book right here. If he's not, he'll duke it out in court forever and ever.

it's all in the editing, remember that rebuttle documentary that Michael put out that showed the same interviews edited differently? they also showed Martin leading Michael to answer certain questions in certain ways.

If he settled other cases just to escape time spent in court and in the media, I suspect he would call it a wrap as of yesterday.

Well how in the world did it air without Michael's approval? If they had a deal that was broken shouldn't Michael have sued from the moment it aired?

I saw the rebuttle documentary, and Michael Jackson's answers and views were still alarming.

Bashir pretty much shot the dicumentary, snatched it and ran like a thief in the night. It was a bait and switch sorta thing and alot of people got rich from it. There was some sort of a contract that said that MJ could review the taped interviews before they aired and basically Bashir edited it the way he wanted to make it seem as salacious and sensational as possible. MJ has every right to seek damages. Why he didnt do it right away, who knows? shrug
