It is sad, though, that we have to turn to the Backstreet Boys for melody and harmony. Yeah, their album gonna bomb (if it hasn't already) EXACTLY like NKOTB's mature "face the music" did. Pop for NKOTB was not present in 1994 when their album dropped, same here for BSB. I remember in eminems awful "my band" video, he was (yet again) dissing boybands, when they havn't been popular for many years by then. Sad but true. I love some boybands.

I don't think it's very sad at all, since they have always done a good job with melodical, harmonic music. But that is my opinion, which has been biased for a long time.
Sure, USA seems to be in this hip-hop tidalwave, but I'm also sure that BSB will have success just fine. Even without US. They have such a loyal fanbase around the world. There was already a time when US didn't want any pop (when they first started), and BSB concentrated on Europe, which took them with open arms. They did just fine .

FIVESTAR FOREVER!!! sheet...prince is known to embrass cheese from now and then...Call My Name anyone? It sounds like a Backstreet tune, it really does. When I listen to BSB, I expect cute, sappy, cheesy lyrics. Something mindless and sugary. Doesn't hurt that they're easy on the eyes either. When I l;isten to Prince I expect something more. Call My Name was Prince singing a BSB song. I like it, but it's a bit disappointing, not to mention weird. Prince becomes a one-man boyband when he's in love. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I heard the name of the new album was "Still Gay".
One of the problem of these bands is that they are in their mid-twenties to early thirties and are still called "Boys". Some people tell me I've got great legs...

That would've been brilliant! Sadly they don't have much of a sense of humour about themselves. I know I'd be laughing at myself 24/7 if I was in a boyband. One of the problem of these bands is that they are in their mid-twenties to early thirties and are still called "Boys".
Most BSB fans, including myself, agree. Considering three of the Boys are in their 30's now and even the youngest member is 25, they're long overdue for a name change. The Boyband Formerly Known as Backstreet? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

meow, sweetie, you KNOW that the Beach Boys never chancged their name.... I remeber Howie, in early interview, when asked abouth his age (second-oldest in the group) and he said that the "boys" part is like the Beach Boys, no matter how old they became, they would still be the Backstreet Boys. I think that works. Although, god bless them, I NEVER have istened to the Beach Boys, the comparing still works.
I don't know. I actually liked Millenium the best, I think partly because I saw a Millenium concert, and met them at that time. I dont think I will ever forget that. But I lie the new abum, a lot. "Climbing The Walls" is amazing. I'm playing that and "Lose It All" in a loop. I think the tiny little Kevin solos (he and Howie really don't get much of them do they?) make me also think of Chicago, the musical in London, where Kevin played the male first role... better work acting than even I had thought...

The Boyband Formerly Known as Backstreet? I just relaized ur female. As is sirah. Man, I must be the only straight guy to like some of their songs. I got their greatest hits cheap. Always loved "larger then life" for some reason? Like a followup to the excellent "bsckstreets back". Both them videos have amazing choreography. They should inital it ala New kids on the block did to BSB. Or BS. I cant beleive full force are on one of the songs. Good for them. But still odd
