A friend of mine has been working on writing new material for Charlotte Church. What's interesting is that Ms. Church is going for a complete reinvention of herself. She used to be that 13-year-old girl with an operatic voice, singing songs like 'Pie Jesu.'

I just heard her new single called "Crazy Girl," not knowing it was her. In fact, at first I thought it was Joss Stone becuase of its soulfulness. Then I thought maybe it was something new from Kelly Clarkson because it seemed to have a rough edge around some nice vocals. When I heard it was Church - I couldn't believe the transformation! The album is called "Tissues & Issues." The U.K. Amazon store says it's coming out next month; no info as of when it will hit American shores. I just thought I'd pass this on in case anyone is interested in her change of musical direction. 'Should be interesting!!!

She then sang her new single live and unfortunately her voice was terrible. She needs a hell of a lot more training in how to sing pop. Predictably, she was ok hitting the high notes (though they sounded too operatic), but the verses in particular, where she was trying to be soulful, were baaaaad.

I always thought she was pretty. Just thought I'd mention that
