Has anyone else picked up a cd by a artist named Res.
I think this is a great cd.

Res is great Laura... unfortunately she wasnt marketed all that wide, a few vids and tv spots on BET but she really needed MTV (unfortunately) for her "rock" to truly shine. Sortof like.. damn, what was that girls name from Brownstone?!? She went solo and was off tha hook! Now I cant remember! dammit!

i like it too....i play it about 3 times a week.

Her name was Kina. Another great cd. I have seen one video from the Res cd on VH1. Maybe it is not to late

The Res album is nice yeah... something different.

Got Joi's Star Kitty's Revenge LP today which is also good.

Res deserves a lot of credit, I can't remember the last time a black woman was fronting a rock band and actually had a hit! I think the closest thing was Dionne Farris from Arrested Development, but this is pretty groundbreaking for MTV and radio to play the shit out of this song. I am still not sick of it yet and I probably listen to it everyday at least once. Great groove and those weird keyboards in the background make it.

VH1 Soul has been playing Res' video nonstop.. A really good album..The lyrics and arrangments are a bit simplistic but the passion in her voice pulls it off...She doesnt write her own music though.....not that that is a complaint or anything...it just suprised me cause her lyrics seem real personal yet are written (i believe) by a man...

I have the album and have enjoyed it. "They Say Vision" is already classic in my book. The video is wonderful too. I'm not too familiar with the album yet, but I also really like "Tsunami." I remember Kina as well, and her video for "Girl from the Gutter" got a lot or video play as well.

Any Cure fans out there? Res is apparently a big one.

Listen to 'Let Love' from her album and then listen to 'Other Voices' by The Cure.

MTV HAS PLAYED RES BUT THEM IT SEEMS IT SWITCHED TO VH-1. RES IS OK LIVE. SHE WAS ON HBO.

i have taped her video though and i caught her on bet with kelis and ed gordon.
kelis is another one who's album should be out already that i want. i've arleady taped the video.
i have a cd single of kina's girl from the gutter.

my fav black rock chica though is rainbow faerie child cree summer. her cd is blazing and i never ever ever have gotten tired of it though i do wish she'd put out a new one already.

her cd is called "street faerie" and it's was produced by lenny kravitz. she wrote all the songs too. i can't say enough about cree. i'll go on and on so i'l stop now.
