BBC's "soul deep" missed out Newjackswing!

The 6 part, 6 hour documentary on the history of US soul ended talking mainly about mary j blige. They mentioned whitney houston being "white" etc.....and spent a total of about 2 minutes on newjackswing mad

Only mentioned Bobby brown. No al b sure! No guy! And whilst mary j may of been one of the first to fuse hiphop and rnb, what about jodeci or r kelly? Still it was aimed at the masses but I was kinda pissed off though.

They gave mary too much credit!

Mentioning missy elliot on a soul programme was ignorant too.

lol Hey newjack shaped rnb today. it lasted a good 6 years. Evne arsenio was part of the cultureof newjack. As were the fashions (dungerees or overalls anyone?)
