Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment has kindly sent over artwork for the fifth season of Good Times which stars Esther Rolle, Ja’Net DuBois, Ralph Carter, Bern nadette Stanis and Jimmy Walker. The three-disc set will be available to own from the 23rd August this year, and should retail at around $29.95. As far as we know, the only extra material will be a few trailers for other Columbia releases. If that changes though, we'll let you know. For now though, here's the official region one package artwork:

Fantastic news!! I have the 1st 4 and watch them all the time. Thelma and Wilona were both FINE, but I'm gonna give my vote to Thelma. Steve Harvey said it the best: "Thelma was one of those girls that made you want to move to the ghetto". Some funny trivia...My dad is a loooongtime friend of John Amos and he told me that Mr. Amos was once married to actress Rosiland Cash (who later played one of J.J's older "flings" on the show). Thanks for the good news on the DVD date.

her mom was physically abusive. this particular episode penny came home late and her mom was ironing clothes. her mom snatched the cord out of the socket and and headed towards her with the iron.....ooooh the drama. penny was crying saying "no momma please no i'll be good". next episode penny has all these burn marks on her back. whew i was scarified.

Janet was my first cruch ever, I was in love with Willona, and Thelma had/has the best booty to ever appear on television!

haha i know. i think the tennis outfit was from Season 4 the episode I think I was "Florida's Night Out". I'll tell ya Wilona looked goooood!

I remember reading in a interview with Chip Fields that a lot of people used to come up at her in the street and they wanted to fight her (because that character was so mean.) She made that chracter believable. I can't wait til this DVD set comes out. Jimmie Walker with that "Tony Manero meets James Brown" perm was hysterical.
