I've never been a fan, but this is a graceful way to go out... Successful albums, decent solo projects, a graceful reunion not altogether poisoned by ego and continuing good relationships. This was well executed.
* I hope Beyonce comes back out with some good stuff after taking a bit of a hiatus. She's WAY overexposed right now. * I hope Michelle returns to gospel. She seems most at home there. I hope Kelly... I guess I hope Kelly finds some good management and producers. She's probably the most uncertain of the group right now, which is too bad -- and unnecessary -- because she's gorgeous, can dance and isn't too bad a singer. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

This is probably the least surprising news I heard about this group in the last four years. Most music people have surmised that Beyonce was being groomed to be a superstar since the second album, and that Kelly and Michelle were just window dressing. It was obvious when Beyonce's solo album blew up that DC was just about finished. I think Beyonce got back with the group out of courtesy to Kelly and Michelle and to their fans, but since the album's name was "Destiny Fulfilled", it looked pretty obvious that this was the last album. Plus the way that she and Kelly just brushed aside Michelle on 106 and Park when Michelle fell down said it all.
Another thing to consider is now that Beyonce will be free to shine on her own, who will manage her? I know most people think her parents will, but I thought that she kicked her dad to the curb when it was revealed that he was fooling around with other bimbos on the side while she was on tour. I know she will be well represented, but I know there has to be some serious drama going on.

No it didn't. It debuted at #19 due to street date violations, then peaked at #2 the following week. Jonathan Cohen needs to buy a fact-checker. How embarrassing considering this is actually a Billboard article. [Edited 6/12/05 20:13pm] It's really bad when Billboard isn't accurate on their own stats! Good catch, Voices!

I don't know. Beyonce is always pissing people off. Unless she has some stuff that really gets people moving like "Crazy In Love", she can hang it up! Amd frankly, with the charts taking digital singles more into account than radio airplay (and God knows Clear Channel was getting some paychecks signed Knowles for that very excessive airplay!) it won't be such a cakewalk. I think a lot of people bought the album right away and then said WTF! I know I did.

Anyways... Destiny's Child was over & done the minute Beyoncé went solo & confirmed her status as SUPERTSTAR. The group was great, but when a member becomes greater...then it's time to move on. Reuniting w/ Destiny's Child may have been genuine reunion, PR, or just a contractual obligation...who knows? What I do know is that moving back into a group was a big stepback for Beyoncé. She is a solo entity & poised for legend status if baby girl keeps it up, no doubt in my mind about that one. DC3 has ran its course & it's time for Beyoncé to continue to thrive on strong as a one-woman show. Just about every review for the "Destiny Fullfilled....and Lovin It Tour" kept saying over & over that Beyoncé stole the show w/ her solo set from the crowd's reactions. Blender said it best when DC released "Destiny Fullfilled" & said that three is now a crowd. Question is.....what will happen to Kelly & Michelle? I for one remember seeing the album at a major media store (oh well, it was Media Play) on Sunday when the release date was Monday (which isn't normal at all...most early release come on the Friday before the offical one). And I'm sorry but the Beyonce praise is a little to early. I don't doubt for a second that if Kelly falls hard on her next project, that some truth will come out about the whole family! I don't mind Beyonce but her parents. Damn, all stage parents of young female pop stars skeeze me out when they are way to involved in their daugther's career.

I think the promotion for her solo album wasn't great (obivously nothing like Beyonce's).

asg said: Destiny's Child To Split After Fall Tour
http://www.billboard.com/...1000955328 By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. Chart-topping R&B trio Destiny's Child will split after its fall North American tour, according to a published report. Group member Kelly Rowland made the announcement on stage in Barcelona last night (June 11). The trio's "Destiny Fulfilled...and Loving It" tour will hit North America beginning July 2 in New Orleans and wrap Sept. 10 in Vancouver. The corresponding album, "Destiny Fulfilled," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 late last year and spawned the hit single "Lose My Breath." It has sold more than 2.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Persoanlly I could care less about DC3. The assumption that they(or Beyonce) will go down in history is laughable. Beyonce is not that great of a singer and I wont even get on her "songwriting." I always thought Kelly was the most talented of the group but since she wasnt Beyonce KNOWLES..Matthew didnt push her solo cd like he pushed Beyonce's. I wish Kelly much success in the future!

Michelle looks about 42 years old. She can't dance. And then she drops a couple of Gospel CDs and then she's in a video with her ass all out for "Soldier." She's a bit confused. LOL! Silent shouts, I hope you hear
