LaToya Jackson, "Just Wanna Dance"

Not that many people really care about her (at least as an 'artist') but who remembers this joint? It dropped last year and had peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music chart.

This and "No More Drama" (the other single from her yet-to-be-released "Startin' Over" album) both have hot production, even if they still carry some of that trademark LaToya campiness. It seems like she finally teamed up with some experienced producers. They also, however, sound a bit dated in the midst of '04/'05. Had the album been released immediately after it was completed (I have no idea how many years ago this was), she'd have sounded fresh, up-to-date, and maybe could have garnered some reasonable success at last on any market after years of flop albums.

I realize the woman is wacky and has a rather lame singing voice but still..

Never heard either of these singles but I would give it a shot. Sometimes dance music doesn't a great vocalist, but it helps (Donna Summer. Pointer Sisters, etc.).

How many years ago was this album supposed to come out? I count three. I remember it was a summer interview where she said the album was coming out and for some reason her name and a reminder that this album was supposed to come out tends to happen in the summer. I keep thinking it was summer (maybe spring!) 2003. I know it was Pat O'Brien who interviewed her while still on Access Hollywood.

I think that album was in work and due to be released before MJ got arrested (November 2003)...and it's still not out? Sorry, I hadn't been paying attention, if asked I probably would have guessed it was already released...now I hear it's still pending? confuse
