what's on your "easy rock" compilation cd??

hey y'all..

I'm going through a sort of.. "easy rock" phase these days..

I just signed up with realPlayer & I've been downloading some of my easy rock favorites that (probably this weekend) I will burn onto a cd. here's what I have so far :

baby come back - Player
I'm not in love - 10cc
dreams - Fleetwood Mac
silver springs - Fleetwood Mac
it's too late - Carole King
fooled around & fell in love - Elvin Bishop
Sara smile - Hall & Oates
I just want to be your everything - Andy Gibb
how deep is your love - Bee Gees
hopelessly devoted to you - Olivia Newton John

I also want to add Samantha Sang's "emotion", but I don't think they have it on realPlayer - I've been looking for it..

I can add probably at least 3-4 more songs, but I'm not sure what else to add.

so tell what you would put on an "easy rock" compilation cd, if you were going to make 1..

thanks!
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

hey Anxiety..
I have A LITTLE "bossa nova" - only Antonio Carlos Jobim & the FIRST album of Everything But The Girl..
what other songs/artists would you recommend specifically in this genre??

have you seen the video for "I'm not in love"??
I like it, it's very "spacy", a little "pyschadelic"
& 1 of the guys looks like JIMMY SMITS..
I'll see you tonight..

astrud gilberto is another must. if you get a good astrud compilation (i recommend "astrud gilberto's finest hour") and a good jobim compilation or two, you'll be good to go.

you should also check out bebel gilberto, who's making modern bossanova music with little bits of electronic music and alterna-pop thrown in. her voice is absolutely gorgeous.

I saw you listed Carly Simon's version of "you belong to me"..
her version is good, but I like the Doobie's version better.

I think Carly's version is more.. "romantic", "sweeter"..
the Doobie version is more "distant" or maybe "colder".. yet still "plaintive".

plus, at the end of that song, I think Michael simply nails his vocal improv:
"TELL him he's a stranger.." etc.
I'll see you tonight..

eek Whoa, a 70s pop hit David doesn't like. lol
I'm gonna compile a list, starting with this one, and see how long it gets. nod

That song would have probably been better with someone else singing it.
He does have one of those weird-vibrato voices. confused

On with "The List", 1 and counting. wink

biggrin That's funny, I just had "Sharing the Night" on my list! Love that tune, it's got a similar sound to James Taylor's "Your Smiling Face"...
