soul ii soul appreciation thread

that whole era was just off the chain...i remember the first time i heard "keep on movin"..i was blown away..that whole cd was just great...that acapella "back to life/jazzie's groove" is one of the best 1-2 punches ever recorded! they ushered in that whole slow jazzy dance club era that Sybil made a living off of (don't make me over, walk on by)...ahh...those were the days. wink

They opened the door/charts for people like Lighthouse family & brand new heavies, 2 of my favourite groups

Loved them! though I never got that deep into most of their later albums, their debut is a standout classic

nod Back in 89/90, this group was a powerhouse to be reckonedwith b/c they had some tight ass beat and slamming vocals. It's a shame that they couldn't continue to make records. Alot of groups and artist in the 90's sampled their beats.

I'm a HUGE fan of the first CD. IMO, they were one of the bands that laid the groundwork for 90s dance music.

They were cool...But their first two albums sounded the same..That beat was cool the FIRST 200 times...then they got CRAZY with it.

Enjoy the sample. neutral

Shame soul to soul paved the way for moby and massive attack though. Both are what is considered (to me) as coffee table middle class twits music.

remember the late 90's/early 00's? Moby and eminem going at eachother? That whole "era" seems so shitty now. That was only a few years ago, yet it seems a zillion years now.
