Everyone copies something from somewhere - for example, you copied your dancing from your family in childhood. Who is to say that a white child growing up in a similar environment to yours (where, say, they witness their family dance daily or fairly regularly) would not later develop into a great dancer as you you have?

What kind of dancing are we talking about here? I really think this debate is something that we have to be witnessing together because I have seen a shift in the way white people dance from the 80's till now and it has become blurred with the way black people dance. There used to be distinctions. White women were not moving their hips back and forth the way they are doing now

When you say "similar enviroment" do you mean an urban enviroment? Not sure what to say to that. My nephews were bopping their heads at 9 months. I've never seen a white child do that and I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood

Depends on the subculture more than the race you're referring to, doesn't it?

Yuppies dance differently than goths dance differently than punks dance differently than hippies dance differently than stoners dance differently than art geeks dance differently than wiggers dance differently than.....

You get my point? wink

I do. There are some people out there that can watch people dancing and then get the dance move right away.

No amount of formal training will make a Fred Astaire or a Gene Kelly. They were incredibly naturally talented dancers who went even further with formal training.

Rather than it being a matter of race, it's more a function of the music you are used to listening to. Rhythmic music with a heavy beat is easier to dance to than let's say, heavy rock or opera music.

It's cultural rather than racial.

nod

I didn't grow up in a "dancing" family, but I grew up listening to and watching traditonal Native dances, many of which utilize a 2/4 beat. I've got my share of rhythm -but only if I can go slow. lol

Oh, but it's totally acceptable for minorities to say stereotypical and racist things about whites. However, all hell would break loose if it was a white person saying something along the lines that about a black person on televison.

I wasn't attacking you at all, I was just that it's ridiculous how white sterotypes are perfectly fine in our society, but a black sterotype is considered racist.

And white people don't??? Maybe it was me but that's how I took it..

I can't beleive MTV don't see through his bullshit....

Yeah that's how I felt.I totally thought that his attitude on that show was just sickening. He needs to get his high and mighty shoulders up OUT the clouds and maybe become a little more humble. The little upstart....

And as far as Puff Diddy is concerned...no, he's not a racist. He's just an ignorant opportunist. As long as he can find his way to a dollar bill, he'll do all he can to find its way into his pocket.

Well this thread is about P-diddy implying that black people can dance because they are black. He did NOT state any FACT about white people not being able to dance.

I can't speak on the dancing part but the big booty part I can. It's rear to see a white lady with a Sista/Spanish lady type booty. So when a brotha sees that he's shocked, we think that you have to have some other ethnic orgin in your blood because most of the white ladies we encounter don't have round backsides like are Sistas and Spanish ladies They are usually flat as a pancake in the booty area.

Don't be offended by it, hell all we want to do is stick are faces in between those cheeks, see it's a win-win situation if you like that kinda service from a man, LOL!!

It is not a race thing. It runs in the family whether or not you have a big behind. I have seen tons of black girls at my college with flat butts.

Uh, well. My butt is wide and round. I have gotten a ton of attention from it. A lot. There's this thing called nightwatch. It's people sitting at the door to the dorms and they watch to see if anyone is coming in who shouldn't. My friend works there and he told me about the black guys who talk about me and say how my butt was nice and round. I would also be talkin to my friend at the front desk, and he said some of the black guys would said damn or o wee. LOL

Honey, black women get stereotyped the worst! At least, yours is something positive!

Not really. They say that black guys try to go for white girls because they think we are easier than black girls. Some of the black girls give me stares when I am talking or sitting with some black guys.

Well, don't u worry about it, baby. U can sit and "talk" with me all u want. I can take u away from here. I'll make u forget about all of the other brothers at your school. I'll make u forget about all of your troubles, all of the hassles. Just take hold of my hand, let me take u to another land. pimp 101.

Well, Well, Well BG Baby. I see that you been laying down some of that Morris Day pimp2 shit on that ass which is expected since you've worked with Morris. hrmph Those young 19 year old girls feenin for a brotha will definitely fall for some shit that a experienced, classy sista won't for sure. So BG Baby, you hit it right on the mark when you called it Pimp 101 b/c you definitely ripped that script from Goldie in the film The Mack. I’m just asking if you think the same thing about a statement about black people, since that’s what the thread is about.
