Am I the only one who loves these CDs? If you grew up in the 70s and you can't get enough of that music,these CDs are essential.I have all 25 volumes.When you listen to these CDs,it's just like listening to AM pop radio stations in the 70s.In addition to the big hits,there are so many rare and forgotten gems on these CDs.These compilations are obviously inspired by those numerous K-TEL records that were so popular in the 70s.Some of the songs that you will find on these CDs...

Rhino Records is the BEST label for 70s music...these guys know what they're doing! Can anyone recommend any other worthwhile 70s compilations?

I don't have any of that particular collection but I have seen it in stores for years. Actually, this past weekend, I was looking for some of that particular collection and they seem to have become scarce. This one particular record store by my house seems to be slipping lately.

Over the years, Rhino Records definately has made some great compilations. I have all seven volumes of the "Phat Trax", all four volumes of "Street Jams: Electric Funk", and two volumes of "Street Jams". The two volumes of the "Tom Joyner Old School Morning Mix" are great also. They also have made some good greatest hits compilations for individual artists.

I have all seven volumes of those 'Phat Trax' CDs,all seven volumes of 'The Disco Years',every volume of the 'Didn't It Blow Your Mind:Soul Hits Of The 70s' series,and most of the 'Smooth Grooves' CDs.

I love "Eighteen with a bullet" have'nt heard it in a long time. I would love to get this compilations but the record store in my area sucks. These songs bring back alot of good memories.

I'll probably stay away from most of the cds that are heavy on funk or disco, because Lord knows I have enough of THAT in my personal collection, and funk so oversaturates the market where I live, it's too easy to track down...I think I'm gonna look for the cds that are heaviest on that AM light 70's vibe, you know, like Gino Vannelli or something. Looks like a mix of Pop/R&B/Rock. Similar material as on the Rhino comps.

I have several artists' discs by "The Essentials". That's definately the one I'll be checking out because they usually always do a good compilation.

I have the ones in red, I've heard of the ones in green, and I don't remember the other ones. Of course, a lot of times when I buy a compilation, some of the songs with unrecognizable titles come back to me once I hear them. I'll be on the look out for this one.
