Game 3 - Tuesday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. (ET)

For Game 3 on Tuesday, June 14, Wonder will perform both the U.S. national anthem and his new single "So What The Fuss" from his highly anticipated album A TIME TO LOVE.

That's cool! A Stevie Wonder performance at the NBA Finals, combining two of my favorite things. I envy Detroit residents. You have a phenomenal team that understands the importance of TEAM and not individual players. Shaq understands that, but unfortunately Dwayne Wade will have to mature to that point. Detroit and San Antonio will be one hell of a series because they are the two best TEAMS in the league. thumbs up!

I'm not sure how proud everyone is after that first game...embrassing. At the very least Stevie will rock the Palace for Game 3! I'm proud of him!

Last night's game was a disaster. The Pistons got out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter and by the 2nd half, our offense totally shut off! They looked tired and sluggish. There was no energy, no offense from the front court! Where was Sheed? Where was McDyess? Needless to say, Im disappointed. The Pistons will get some rest, make adjustments and they'll be back for Sunday night's game 2. Im very confident.

i hope, well i know he will do better than umm was it anita baker last year. she was looking and sounding a hot mess, imo. at least she didn't get booed like destiny's child did in 2001 at the philly/lakers game. that had to be embarassing.

anyone remember this http://users.rcn.com/pkat...llewis.mp3 i'm not sure if it was at a finals game or all-star game or what but he sounded horrible. i listen to it whenever i need a good laugh.

Silent shouts, I hope you hear

Stevie's performance was good but the lack of energy from the crowd made me really mad. It disturbs me that the people from my hometown don't recognize a musical genius when it's in front of them.

Thye didn't wake up until that first Ben Wallace dunk and while they should've been awake for that, it seemed disrespectful to a legend of Detroit.

I bolded it so you would be able to read it. Next time I'll type slower.

After talking to others about this, I guess it's just me who understands who Stevie Wonder is and what his contribution to society and music is.

I SAW THIS LAST NIGHT.

I was waiting for Stevie to sing after (what I thought was) his "harmonica intro"..
but he just kept playing it.. & playing it..!

by the time he got to the "whose broad stripes" part,
it occurred to me that he probably was NOT going to be singing any part of the anthem..

to me it seemed.. STRANGE to play a harmonica rendition of the National Anthem-
even for someone as BRILLIANT on the harmonica as Stevie is.

in a few parts, it seemed like Stevie & the orchestra were not playing on the same rhythm- or maybe I'm imagining that.

still..
I ended up.. liking it!
it was VERY unique. DEFINITELY the most UNIQUE version of the Star Spangled Banner that I've ever heard.

by chance, has anyone located a version - audio &/or video - of last night's Anthem???
if so, PLEASE let me know.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

You know, I didnt notice that the crowd wasnt crunked. It seems like they gave him a standing O and applauded wildly when he was done. Sometimes the technicians mute crowd noise a bit and bring up the mics that the talking heads are using so that may have been some of the problem that you were experiencing. For example, when I listen to the games on the radio, the crowd sounds incredibly loud compared to the tv, so loud that the announcers have to yell into the mic just to be heard. The Palace is known for being the loudest arena in the NBA.
