I think some of these statistics are highly dubious anyway...

What about "The Wall", "Saturday Night Fever", or "The White Album"?

What about "You Can Dance", "J to tha Lo" or any of the other scores of remix albums out there? I know for a fact that BOTDF sold as much as YCD anyway...

Besides, I think it's ridiclious to leave MJ's "legendary" status up to record sales, almost all of which are 10 to 20 years old.

Im not sure anyone would question MJ is a living legend, but i dont get the whole biggest selling this, biggest selling that. IMO his absolute peak was the BAD tour in 87/88. I loved dangerous and some songs on HIStory, but to me its been down hill since this tour where he was at the peak of his game.

Yes he is a freak now, bhut i dont think that detracts from what he's done in the past. My main problem with him is his work rate. It takes him like 5 years to make each album.....that's obscene. If prince only put out one album ever 5 years, i cant even comprehend how good it would be....the same with Madonna and most other artists too.

I think MJ should take stock for a while and decide whether he wants to be in the music indutry anymore, as for every half arsed attempt like invincible he releases, he waters down his legacy.

If he wants to come back an make an album that embraces his roots, then brilliant. But please dont come back with whatever Heal The World / Earth Song / Cry / The Lost Children, general saviour like song you have up your sleeves, its tired and it is tedious. As are the attempts to keep up with the current "trends" - its embarassing. I cant believe he turned down the Neptunes stuff that Justin T recorded in favour of the shit on invincible.

I do hope he goes for some kind of psychiatric help because he clearly has a major jesus complex. Hopefully this trial will have grounded him a bit and bring him back to some state of normality.

He's way overrated. The poppiest of pop. Sells lots of records, but doesn't have high quality music. But who cares right? He sells records.
