Some New Music Reviews......

Well this week I was fortunate enough to get hold of some of the new Music that is coming this week and One CD that came out earlier this year in Norway and Germany only but now I found it on Import.

Well First of all there is alot of music coming this Tuesday June 7th, a little something for everyone.

Well here are some of the CDS i bought this Friday in NYC

COLDPLAY XY- Well Im not sure about this one yet, I was one of the few that knew Coldplay before it all blew up and they were the biggest thing. This CD will take a few more listens for me to give it a fair shake, I think im having troble with it because Im comparing it to their first album, mainly because it has some of that feel, but it isnt fair to compare anyone to past work, so with that said even on its own, its still not hitting me yet.

BLACKEYEDPEAS monkey Business- Well now this CD I am shocked I like alot. After the commercial breakout of the Peas, I figured that they would keep going that way, well they do and they dont, there is a big challenge with this record. I think they feel that they may be getting lumped into a TOP 40, 13 year old crowd, well thats partially their own fault. But dont think that BEP are going HARD or something stupid like that, thats what ruined LLCOOLJ. This CD features everyone from Jack Johnson to Justin to Q tip to Talib to John Legend to Sting but best of all James Brown, on an amazing track called "THEY DONT WANT MUSIC" which is a shot at pretty much the Top 40 audience that took them in. Great use of all the guests here, usually i hate guest appearances, mainly because the Guest always try to make their own mark on someones record, hear everyone gets the FUNK!

SHAKIRA-Oral part 1. Well Shakira goes back to her roots, Latin Music, even though Part 2 will be english, even Shakira throws a curve with this record, some new styles for her, gone is the ROCK that she was infamous for, though there is a hint of it here and there.

and Lastly

MAGNE F-pastPresentandFuturetEnse

magne F is one third of AHA, he mainly supplies the Keyboards, Bass and anything else, he plays about 15 instruments. On his first solo CD which came out early this year, MAGNE is somewhere between AHA, COLDPLAY and Ryan Adams. Obviously he doesnt possess the Voice of MORTEN the leader of AHA, but his voice is very Natural, straightfoward and U can hear the Truth come through his words in a different way than MORTEN does. MAGNE wrote all the tracks and Produced the Record with friend MARTIN TERFERRE who is producing all of the upcoming AHA record, and honestly if it sounds like this CD , then its clearly my CD of the year and the Best that AHA will do. MAGNE plays all the instruments but on some tracks is backed by two members of COLDPLAY. Every track shines but I feel his best is "Nothing here to Hold you", possibly the best song i have heard in a long time from anyone. Simple yet difficult.

Well there it is sort of
