How Many Of you Planning To Get the new....

White Stripes CD? I probably will. I've only heard the new single once but I like it. I like Jack's falsetto on the song and it's funky. Has anyone else heard any other tracks off it?

I've heard about 3 tracks in their entirety and snippets of everything else. Sounds quite solid.

I've heard "The Nurse", "The Denial Twist" and "Blue Orchid" in full, and they all sound pretty cool to me wink

It sucks. I have it. I'm a big fan of the White Stripes and I used to work with Meg at a bar years ago, so I've always followed them. There's like 4 songs I like on the album. I wouldn't waste my money on it. This will be the first WS album ever that I won't be buying.

uh oh, that's not a very good review. is it because it's slower that you don't like it? i heard the songs aren't as rockin as their previous stuff.

No, that's not it. I like slow songs, I like songs with piano. I'm all for changing your sound. It's just that the majority of the lyrics on this album are really retarded, and a lot of the arrangements sound like they were made by a mental patient. Now i'm all for that (Wesley Willis, etc) but, I dunno. I can't even look at this album as just being a fun departure for them. It's just ... out there, and not in a good way, and this is coming from a white stripes fan who goes WAY back before "white blood cells" ...

I liked "the denial twist" and "I'm lonely (but I ain't that lonely yet)" the best. I don't know what's up with Jack's voice on "blue orchid" tho. The falsetto worked great on the last album's "Seven Nation Army" but it doesn't sustain an entire song tho. Even Meg's solo turn on the new album is horrible, and I loved "Cold Cold Night" on Elephant.

I only really started enjoying/was introduced to their music from "Elephant", so (for me) the three tracks that I've heard in full sound pretty cool smile Not sure how consistent it all is with their back catalogue stuff.
