songs about drugs

the one that pops into my mind is The Needle and the Damage Done by Neil Young.... and i'm sure there are a zillion others.

What are some of your favorite, or the most powerful, songs about drugs and drug addiction?

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced

It's easy to take it that way, but i've gotta disagree.

My take is that something beyond a drug experience is being sought...

Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful

...Now Purple Haze might be another story. wink

Two of U2's best songs are about drug addiction:
Running to Stand Still

Bad

Talking Heads - Drugs
Guns n Roses - Mr Brownstone
Rolling Stones - Sister Morphine
Pretty much all of Alice in Chains' Dirt album

Songs that at least reference drugs:

Prince - The Love We Make
Bowie - Station to Station
I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

good picks ya'll.

I read somewhere that There She Goes by The La's (and covered by Sixpence None The Richer) is about drugs. Check out these lyrics:
There she goes
There she goes again
Racing through my brain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she goes
There she goes again
Pulsing through my veins
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she goes
(There she goes again)
There she goes again
(There she goes again)
Racing through my brain
(There she goes)
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she goes
There she goes again
She calls my name
she pulls my train
No one else could heal my pain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains
