Anita FANATICS (Appreciation Thread) If y'all are like me.. u cant get enough ANITA. She is a legend in her own rite. I have been a fan for more then 12 yrs. Since I was 13yrs old. I can't remember how I discovered her music.. but I been in love w/ this woman and her voice for so long now. I pray Mrs Baker goes on the road again someday w/ a massive tour.. since I have never had the pleasure to hear her live.

She puts on a hell of a live show. I have every single album and both 'best ofs'.

I saw her live with Luther Vandross and I thought her show was one of the most boring concerts I ever saw... she sang the songs EXACTLY like the albums, with no changes or improv. whatsoever... The band also played completely straight and lifeless... I loved her first two albums, but after that they are all the same.

I'd love to see her in concert if she come through my city, I know it will be ON!!
I don't know why her company isn't working more to promote her recent album, it's wonderful. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I never bothered to listen to Compositions... maybe I'll give her another try... I do like her voice... She's like a new Sarah Vaughan... but I can't stand a "phoned in" performance.

Damn and you're a Prince fan? Smooches;) lol I've heard this more than once. I think some of it stems from the fact that Anita started to get a little soured on the biz in the 90s. Can't say I blame her.

No, no, no...I encountered her in the '80's when she was still leaving here in Detroit. She used to live next door to a friend of mine, before she made it BIG. She used to always bitch about us running on her grass Smooches;)
